I think landing Snyder is certainly a best case scenario if we let Vogel go.

I feel like Phil is already acting as a special advisor just without the title and probably will continue to do so for a while. Same with Magic. I'd still just like for Jeanie to actually create a clear power structure within the organization with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.

So here's where I'm at... independent of the rest of the personnel, Phil probably shouldn't be in the front office. BUT when you zoom out and look at the rest of the cooks in the kitchen, he's better and more knowledgeable than all of them combined. Has the league passed him by and is he out of touch with today's league and players? Absolutely. But even with that, I trust his basketball acumen over that of the Rambii, Magic, Klutch, Bron, and AD.

He was not good in NY. But on the flip side of that coin they were awful before he got there and they were awful after. Jeanie is going to only listen to people she trusts. Out of that group, Phil is the best, most qualified person. I desperately want her to sell but until then, having Phil upstairs giving his thoughts in an official capacity isn't a bad idea considering the options.

i don't know. is phil actually any better than rambis in terms of management? what's the evidence? they've both been really bad, imo.

i think our best FO guy is rob. coincidentally, he has the actual title that should allow him to make decisions.

anyway, you're right overall. i don't see an easy path to great organizational functioning until the busses sell. it always starts at the top. it's why the knicks and kings are perennial messes.

Phil, love 'em to death, but the guy is not responsible for ANY of the major personnel acquisitions of The Bulls or Lakers. Yeah, he got Porzingas with the 4th or whatever but the book is still out on him. It isn't like he's nearly as good as the 1st pick from that draft (KAT). In fact, I remember Phil wanting to trade Kobe for Kidd. Kidd's great but Kobe got Phil rings. He is unproven to be a successful GM and has never been one (he was Pres in NY). Phil's talent lies in taking some stars and getting them to work at a common goal. He takes away their control and doesn't have players running him. He is either a coach, or nothing in my mind.

Start Lebron, Stan, Reaves, and THT: we all know this is the lineup is where you were going to go with at the end. You need to start them so the rotations end up being leading to getting 30+ minutes each

Frank looks very happy tonight postgame. Nice to see him so relieved. He did the right thing benching Russ.

i'm convinced in 30 years there will be lakers fans asking if we should bring back phil's corpse

he's too old to coach and he was terrible as a FO guy for the knicks

    no. just no

It’s there, Frank, you just got to commit to it, play LeBron with 4 guys who hustle in the fourth equals a chance to win. Play two or more old guys with LeBron equals automatic loss.

right. you can play AD with that group against small teams and swap a real big for stan against big ones.

anyway, it's the vogel thread, and while i agree that he could have done some things better, remember that stan wasn't even on the team until midseason, THT was hurt, and he was basically forced to play russ.

Damn it Spurs, Stein thinks Snyder's Pop's replacement if Jazz let him go and Pop retires.

Quin is an upgrade over Vogel.

This is where you don't get cheap and just pay the freaking dude to come here.

    He's a good coach.

    You suck Vogel.

    Go get Quinn.

They'll settle for Handy because he is cheap.

dudley's so going to be the coach, and he'll probably be substantially worse than walton.

Wonder how many more years Rondo is planning on playing. I'd rather go that route if we're going former Laker player.

I haven't kept up with his Dudz is doing as an assistant for Kidd. I still think he ends up being better suited for a front office position. Can we give him the Rambii role?

did someone kill the rambii? because that's the only way they're not going to be running things while the busses are in charge.

The Lakers need a new coach! They have all-stars in Lebron, Westbrook, Davis and even Howard. The coach is the reason for their failure!
