Jeff has been out of the league so long, but both seem to be solid tacticians. Stan seemed to not mesh with the younger generation, but with a veteran heavy roster, I think it could work.

Once our veterans age out or move on/expire, we may need to consider something else. But imagine what it would be like having two Handy's for skill development.

I liked Atkinson when his name was brought up a few years ago but I think he's a better fit for a young team than this one.

    Serious hypothetical question here.

If Phil Jackson was the coach with this roster, playing the triangle in today’s NBA. What would that look like? Would we be better or worse than what we are now?

without a dominant big man or pure scorer?

i can't imagine they'd be playing any better or worse than this current team is

I can't imagine LeBron playing any way other than how LeBron wants to play on any particular trip up the court. Maybe Phil in his prime though could Jedi Mind Trick him.

I can't take this seriously. Antony is a LOSER. Always have been throughout his career. How on earth is he a solution to become the best team in the world? C'mon man

I was actually thinking AD should be the dominate big man while Lebron is the facilitator as well as pure scorer and here he can get a bucket whenever he wants.

Both Lebron and AD could play make out of the post too.

I’ll ask again, who would you get as a coach that’s available…name names?

Worse I imagine. Russ would be just as bad in it, it would also negate quite a bit of Lebron’s ball dominance and AD isn’t a go to scorer - he is an elite finisher.

Oddly enough, our best offence is an MDA constructed one.

Terry Stotts, David Alderman, Charles Lee, Wes Unseld Jr, Pat Daleny, Darvin Ham..there are a lot of guys out there that can coach. I don't think Frank is special in any regards other than we did win a chip with him. I'd prefer a coach that has a good grasp on both offense and defense . It depends on the front office...we could have had Monty Williams or Lue now. Folks act like it would be some impossible task or something. I don't. Nobody was hyping Frank Vogel when Luke got fired, now he's irreplaceable?

Did you just start Googling assistant coaches? What about Adelman, Lee, or Delany is particularly appealing? They're completely unproven. Ham's name has been mentioned for years, but he's never been granted an opportunity. Is there a reason you chose him or are you simply basing it on that previous fact? Wes Unseld Jr is currently employed so not sure why he's on the list. It looks like you're just throwing *** against the wall at this point because you've been called out enough times for dodging the question.

I havent spent weeks researching coaches. I am aware of these names because I'm a hoop head. Did Frank Vogel's name pop immediately into your head when Luke got fired? I like Wes Jr...I would take him if he resigned. I don't really care about the "proven" aka retread guys specifically. It depends on the person. Dodging? Meh..I didn't really think Frank would get fired until now.

Adelman is the architect for the Denver offense.

Kevin Young is another assistant who's the offensive coordinator for Phoenix.

    He's good, too.

Bear in mind, I like Frank.

Just mentioning two names that I like.

Adelman is a sharp guy, Young would definitely be an upgrade on the play calling. There are a lot of good basketball minds out here. Some of them just need their shot.

Yeah, I agree that it’s not impossible to replace Vogel. I just question our ability to find a good replacement especially if it’s a current assistant.

You're so ridiculous. Dwight got a 2nd chance so why not MDA?

At the end of the day if the Lakers are serious about winning a ring then they may have to be around some personalities that they necessarily don't agree with all the time.

Compared to Vogel? He's better. Miles better

For half a season with this current roster and its core (LBJ, AD, Reaves, Stan, Monk, Ariza, AB) I'll take MDA

The team can put all this talk of firing Frank to bed by winning games. Tonight is as good a time as any to start.
