Apparently Frank's job is still in jeopardy. We're at a game to game basis right now

i agree that it's unacceptable, but so was your roster building, FO. you firing yourselves, too?

I know Vogel is not given the guys he prefers this season, but it is also true that you have to adapt in order to put the team you have in a position to succeed. I mean, you can get "your players" on a consistent basis when you're Phil Jackson, but most historically good coaches are good because they make guys work hard for them and they know how to work with what they have.

So, I'm not blaming it completely on Vogel this year, but he does get some blame at least. Some of the rotations were truly bizarre and he just wasn't able to find that winning combination on a consistent basis, although it's obvious that you have to keep Russ under control and that people like Johnson (who needs to be signed for the rest of the year pronto), Reaves and Monk are very good and deserve minutes.

Not only that, who the F is going to replace him? Fiz showed he isn't up to it. Rambis going to come down and be a terrible coach... again? This isn't like the buyout market where a bunch of good options are going to be available in a month.

Can't fire him when Bron, Russ, and AD have barely played together. And barring another setback, we're about to finally have the entire roster together and healthy-ish (minus Nunn who doesn't count by this point).

Its a pure desperation move and a pretty big indication that the front office knows we might've screwed this up beyond repair this year.

Vogel is not the problem. And even if he was, who do you replace him with? There is ZERO out there.

No one. As you said, there's no one better out there. He does get some blame, everyone does: FO, coach, some players... but I don't think trying to replace him is smart.

That’s..idiotic. Having your coach fighting for his job every game? That’s not a recipe for success, it’s a recipe for a heart attack. Vogel isn’t amazing, but he’s not the #1 problem, that’s the roster, followed by health. You fire him who are you even going to get? To fire the coach for this is passing blame to save your a**, which sounds so typical of our past front offices, and is not surprising at all coming from Rambis, someone who does not deserve the job he has and is there because of nepotism. If they fire Vogel this won’t be fixed, it will get even uglier, he’s not always amazing, but he does make adjustments that win us games. I doubt even Phil Jackson or Gregg Popovic could do much better with this roster.

Yea if we're going to axe the head coach, i'm hoping it's done in the offseason rather than mid-season. Has the FO seen Fizdale coach? And alternatively, we're going to hire an outsider to come in mid-season to implement an entirely new system?

Like others have already said, Vogel deserves blame, but there are like 3 other things ahead of coaching in terms of blame for where we are as a team.

This is bizarre, but I think these takes are right, and he’s going to be gone after the next bad loss, which of course we’ll have. I have no clue who replaces him, but I guess Kurt Rambis could come down and do it since he apparently can do anything. Still can’t believe that dude holds a position of power with us

So f***ing stupid. Daddy Buss was a smart guy who matched that with business experience.

All his children even Jeannie seem way too beholden on being in with the family like Rambis.

I’m still on team Vogel. Yes, his rotations drive me nuts sometimes, but who are we gonna get mid season that’s better? I’ll tell you one thing, he wouldn’t be unemployed long if we canned him. He’s still a quality coach.

honestly, we'll probably have to go outside the box to improve even in the offseason. none of the handful of obvious "good coaches" are going to get fired, so what, import from europe? we know lebron loves that.

we'll do something lame like hire rondo as head coach or something.

Honestly, whenever you hear Rambis in the middle of something, it usually isn't good.

He was a disaster as a head coach and now he's Senior Advisor or whatever title they're giving him this month. It's so ridiculous.

Look, Vogel hasn't been perfect, but the roster construction sucked. So did the trade for Westbrook. That wasn't any of his fault.

Could he do better? Yes. But to treat this man like this and put him in a position where he's coaching game-to-game is absurd.

It actually sounds like a Rambis idea.

    Goodness.

This is a very bad look. We are finally close to getting AD back and NOW the FO is throwing Vogel under the bus? Garbage. Fizdale literally did not win a single game as HC when Frank was out with COVID.

This is a dumb move and really screws us over.

Now this would truly be wasting a year of Lebron if they fire Vogel mid season with no good replacement. Just the disruption itself mid season would certainly sink this ship. It’s just so stupid to do this after a win over a quality opponent, a huge road trip coming and AD on the horizon of coming back who is the essential key to Vogel’s defensive system. This FO can eff off.
