You just love to crack on Vogel don't you? With zero ideas like none of us have any ideas who in the WORLD would be doing a BETTER job with the hand he was dealt this year between starting off with all new roster save 3 people, all his relied upon defenders let go elsewhere, injuries to his key players and the new players such that he doesn't even have the best of the expected weaker core of defenders available ... and then for additional out of his control bleeps and giggles .... Covid saying we're going to f*** with your roster too Frank. Get a clue. Man that's all you do around here when times are bad, like no one else has to deal with the tough times too. Sorry for rant.

I can never hate on Vogel, when he was hired I was happy because for the 1st time in a decade I knew we have a good coach based on his Pacers tenure alone. I don’t think he wanted to coach Westbrook, no coach in his right mind would at this point of Russ’ career..I say on all actors he has the least of the blame from this dumpster fire of a season

The front office makes the staff decisions and should've brought in someone who could help Vogel integrate Russ instead of / in addition to Fizdale. Still feel like the front office is getting off too easy while the coaches and players continue trying to figure things out.

Feels like the hot seat under Vogel has died down at least a little bit though. I've been critical but never thought he should be fired. Still don't.

so lakers are only team dealing with injuries n covid? let me guess he has no choice to go small either when it clearly isnt working while theres howard on bench being paid to be a cheerleader? and like i asked, what value does he have as a HC when apparently has no say on team makeup nor his assistant?

It’s literally a stupid question but if you’re so irate about how the Lakers organization chooses to run THEIR team and THEIR business with regard to the coaching staff …. call them up, write them, b**** at them and demand your answers.

be...because that's not the coach's job? because that's the general manager's job? the clippers have gotten spanked plenty, and by teams we've beaten. seriously, man, go root for them. lue's a hof coach. their sub .500 team is leagues better than our sub .500 team. they're in the same city!

lue's schemes are going to bring it home. some day. soon. he's the reason they've won half their games instead of losing all of them, while vogel is the reason we've lost half our games instead of winning all of them. we get it.

no. but pretty much every other team that has is also hovering around .500. somehow, their genius coaches couldn't scheme their way out of it like lue...also hasn't.

FWIW, LBJ missing 9 games hurt early in the season.

We would probably have a better record and in a season where every team outside the top 4 is so close in the standings, that matters a lot.

On topic, Cranjis has posted some very encouraging offensive data and provided examples how how the Lakers have opened up their offense a great deal and improved it.

    Kudos to the coaching staff.

yeah, don't love it. it's clear the organization--at the behest of its stars--wanted to go this way.

This wasn't Frank's greatest coaching job.

    He was bad.

And my guy, have the cajones to bench Russ.

    Goodness.

Going forward after this it is all on Vogel. Russ should not be in the court.

your hyperbole is lost on me cause i never said Lue was good...i clearly stated if Lue isnt getting credit as a good coach winning chip on Brons back neither should Vogel. fact that this team is as bad as everyone else should at least take away from the notion that Vogel is a good coach....he might be a good defensive asst if given proper roster but he's not a GOOD coach

For the love of the basketball gods, play Reaves and Dwight more.

Also, I like small ball as the next guy but you can't play small ball and a bunch of pint size guards: You have to play a two of Johnson/Reaves/Ariza so that you have still have some size to board and contest shots.

Also ditch the f***ing traps: Clippers killed it, Memphis killed it, and the Kings killed it. NBA teams are way too good dealing with a trap unless you're coming with size and athleticism which the Lakers don't have at the guards.

can you just answer my question since you're such a staunch supporter? so Vogel has no say in personnel, no say on his assistance, 3 yrs in now and the team has been bottom on offensive ranking for the last 2, i wont put blame on the defense side since he apparently shouldn't get any criticism for roster construction. So what criticism is allowed of Vogel?

the question is why the incessant whining about vogel when no coach would win with our roster and injury situation? none. you pretty much lost that debate, so you moved to "why hasn't vogel fixed the roster?", to which i responded that it's not his job. your beef is with the front office.

as for vogel being "good" or not. he's got a better resume than probably half or more than half of the league's active coaches. that's factoring in the lebron title, too. it's just a really weird issue to attach oneself too. there are, like, 12 worse things about this team than vogel's offensive schemes.

and for those asking him to bench russ--you're just venting and understand that this simply cannot happen, right? unless vogel wants to lose his job. honestly, one thing he and the staff should get some partial credit for is that the locker room hasn't blown up yet. a veteran team underperforming to the extent this one has is a recipe for disaster.

i hate it, too, but the russ trade meant all this stuff had to and has to happen. we have to ride (and likely die horribly) with russ before any big changes can be made.

and once again: i just hope the front office has learned to take the reins instead of let our star players play manager. hopefully the stars learned it as well. you know lebron and AD are both kicking themselves right now.
