it's a little concerning. though i suppose i'm glad he's clearly aware of the stats.

if he gets fired, quotes like this will be brought up for sure, though.

on the other hand, i get it: there are times when coaches have bent to metrics to bad effect. if i were him, i'd rather go down swinging in accordance with my principles. i wish management had provided him with a better version of what he wants than avery bradley.

:Laugh:What you wish for is almost impossible it's not easy to have a DPOTY candidate who leads the league in steals off the bench. Those are rare breed of players dude.:ADnaughty:

lol. honestly, that quote could be taken as an indirect shot at management re: eagle.

"if only there were a player who does the intangible, contagious things, and isn't otherwise bad at basketball...love the one you're with, right?"

after vogel's fired, we'll find out that him starting bradley was just a straight up trolling of the FO.

Might be. He probably feels some type of way about only getting a year extension.

    Can't blame him.

yeah, and ironically, that reduced job security probably plays into some of his more negative coaching tendencies.

Maybe we should've had this convo sooner. This roster has a really short memory, wonder if it'll stick... at all.

The pick and roll defense has sucked from the day Vogel got hired. It gets glossed over, by the Lakers having a "top rated" defense in the previous two seasons. Teams worked over Javale and Dwight with that action in the championship season too. It's a curious thing.

honestly, i feel like it has to be partly by design. we seem to consistently prioritize limiting open threes versus shots in the paint. i think frank almost invites floaters in particular--anything not directly at the rim unchallenged.

i'd love to hear his general thoughts on the pick and roll. he seems to hate running it on offense and not care too much about it on defense. he must just think it's not the path to winning. or maybe it's all dictated by personnel.

The "change" she maybe should be considering is in hindsight .... her bottom line "all in" monetary directions to Pelinka this past FA period.

If I played for the Lakers, I hope he would say the same thing and that I'd still have a starting gig.

Because I bring contagious energy, even if it's not effective.

And I have sound fundamentals since I attended a HWC?

Probably will start Duke again and hopefully give Reaves more minutes than him off the bench and in crunch time. No way Vogel doesn’t see his better “intangibles”.

hmmm...didn't look that heated to me. maybe being closer to it would have revealed more. anyway, based on vogel's comments, it sounds like he expected dj to be up to speed defensively by now, and he's not. so sit him. i'm good.

And DJ certainly got his shot at staying a starter. Dwight deserves his and does more things better and faster. Plus he’s got to be the highest 3pt % shooting center in the league.

i think if dwight wants a starting shot, he should get it. but i'm not sure it's best for him or the team. his energy off the bench is helpful, and i think we need to limit his minutes to make sure he can play with that intensity. yes, dj has proven you can play limited minutes as a starter, but dwight's had his success the past three years as a backup. i wish we had another center option with more athleticism/mobility or offensive ability. or a big forward (rudy gay or jeff green or someone would have helped us a lot).
