My sentiments exactly. I will continue to say it over and over, the triumvirate of Rob, Lebron and AD handed Vogel an absolute impossible roster to do what he’s good at. It’s the equivalent of someone giving a mechanic only a screwdriver to repair an engine then complaining when it doesn’t run properly.
you can say mgmt gave Vogel poor defenders so def is bad, what justification do you have for the bad offense that goes as far back as last season?
If LeBron was such a great basketball mind, he would have never asked for Westbrook based on fit alone.
Vogel got dealt a very bad hand for sure. They took away all his good defenders except AD and gave him one way shooters. The sole two way guy Baze turned out to be a massive bust. Nonetheless his coaching has been crappy too. No way around that.
@abeer3 Have you seen the Clippers roster from top to bottom? They are second in the league in defensive efficiency. I'm wondering how? They have a couple standout guys defensively? PG and Bledsoe. Do you think they have more defensive talent than us? Offensive efficiency? They are 23rd. We are 24th. They are winning games defensively. I brought it here because I was comparing what Lue and Vogel have their respective teams ranked at.
Pretends to be clever not revealing lineups Drops the same lineup we’ve been using since almost the start of the regular season. Where’s the risk to shake things up? He’s absolutely stuck on his security blanket Bradley and for some reason DJ.
What. The. Hell. Was that lineup with Russ, Bradley, Ellington THT, and AD? THT at PF? Is Dwight injured or sick? We had a big lead and it evaporated, why the hell if you’re Vogel and your chair is a little warm do you run lineups like that? What good could possibly come of that?
Some of those lineups were just absurd. If I were Vogel I wouldn’t get too cozy right now. Again we squandered a huge fourth quarter lead and barely beat a horrible team. Not a great look.
THT at PF is bad... we really need Ariza back for that role. I'm fine with one of the Cs sitting. I really like the look of the small ball lineup with Bron at C. If we're going to do that, one of the Cs aren't going to play if we're going to play AR. Unless we're starting AD at 5, the C that sits is going to be Dwight. The lead... we don't defend, go 5-6 minutes where we think we're GS and don't go into the paint, and get complacent. We'll give any team a chance to comeback. Edit: Vogel said it won't always be DJ getting the nod in the 1 C rotation.
