A little slow but Ham is starting to see the importance of having your outside shooting threats on the court instead of the bench. Good job coach. Matt's shooting and threat of shooting opened up our offense.
He made some key substitutions late bringing Reaves back in for Ryan and he immediately hit a big 3. And when he brought Russ back in he immediately got that leaping block at the rim and continued to play well.
I actually really like Ham so far, he’s easy to root for, and he’s got this team playing hard. It’s a bad roster, we should not be in every game we’ve played really, but they players clearly have bought in. The offense overall is better than under Vogel, and he actually did it, he hd had Russ come off the bench. I genuinely hope he’s here the duration of his contract and gets some roster continuity to grow with. Anyway, congrats on the first win.
That’s awesome to see and the guys look really happy. Hopefully we keep some chemistry with the tough start.
This was good to see for Coach Ham. We did a lot of things right and hopefully learned some things. Russ looked good. Just that is huge. I'm looking forward to the carry over. Last season it would look like we turned a corner and then it was right back. I think this season we will keep learning and making strides. Impressive win.
Ham has been phenomenal. I've been quietly listening to everything he has to say. I love the way he sees the game of basketball. And yes, Rob does deserve credit for this hire.
I like this. It seems Coach Ham is getting this figured out. Kudos to him for being patient. He worked Russ to the sixth man masterfully without causing a big uproar. It might of cost us a few games, maybe not, but it will sure be beneficial going forward. I really supported the hire and then I got mad at him for not following through on what he said. I also love his philosophy of coaching. Now I see he was being smooth and I'm not mad anymore...lol.
Ham is a very likeable guy. Hard not to root for him. Glad our guys seem to be listening to him and playing hard to win for him. If he continues to make it work with Russ off the bench he's definitely in the running for COY. Yes, it's an obvious fix that folks have been calling for since last season. But to actually get him to buy in is something else entirely. Despite his "hammy" issue, seems like he has in earnest.
Darvin has been solid. The team is playing hard for him, we haven't been overwhelmed in any of these games. If these guys would have just shot their career averages from 3 so far, we'd be 5-1 IMO. IF AD can stay healthy, by the 20 game mark, things will be a lot more upbeat around here.
