I disappear at that time every year. Priorities indeed, I have my own basketball to tend to...lol. Much more enjoyable.

Hey Bro! Didn't mean to short shrift you on calling early for Ham needing to go in your BLARING signature all year :giggle:  but I don't recall if you called it a bad hire right from the get go like Kareem did. If so ..... here they are:

Jeezus @Toklat .... a trip to pick up a sixer in those conditions with grizzes and moose "carrying grudges" lurking about .... could turn out poorly.

The bears are smart enough to sleep through it, but the moose, they will nab your 12-pack of Alaska Amber everytime if your not careful.

I question my basketball sanity bc I actually liked the hire...lol. Though, Sam Cassell was my top choice.

    Best case to me: Lue.
We retain Handy, bring in Rondo.
Lue brings over Craig, Shaw, and Drew with him.
Craig was with the Heat in various capacities for nearly 17 years (so there's some Bron familiarity), is still pretty young in terms of coaches, COY in the G-League and apparently has acumen for the defensive side of the ball. Shaw's Laker ties would be an automatic yes from Jeanie. Drew, I hated as a HC in ATL, but he's been on the bench for 32 years and has seen everything, has been a Laker assistant, and also has Bron ties from Cleveland.

Lue is unavailable and I don't think that he is getting fired
The Clippers have guaranteed the final year of Lue’s contract for the 2024/25 season, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports

As I tried to point out, I wish the date was TODAY, but based on history, you either fire him NOW or wait until the end of the NBA season. I've seen that a lot. I think the NBA Finals are over around June 15. The Busses would see that date - maybe after the parade - as "postseason business time."

I'm guessing this is how the Busses roll, not on what I'd do. June 15th. If you disagree, what's your date. We'll see who was closer.

Historically, a franchise that's really pissed about a coach cans him ASAP; other than that they don't want to draw attention to themselves (and the fired coach) during the season as if Hey the games are going on, but look at the Lakers in the news still! They fired their coach. I don't think this is how the Busses perceive Ham. Optics.

I suspect Ham's starting to get the feeling he's gone. The Lakers can start thinking of post-Ham now, fire him after the T-Wolves knock off the Bags in 6, whatever.

The worst thing of all would be that we're all wrong: they give him another year. I don't see it, but I've been wrong about this kinda of thing in the past.

How do people feel about JJ Reddick? If you read the tea leaves, it seems like a strong possibility. Not necessarily my first choice, but I don’t hate it and we could definitely do worse.

Has a strong relationship with Bron so he’d have the support of the stars. I also think that, as a guy who made a career from off ball movement, he could likely bring that to his offense and prepare for the post-Lebron era.

Someone like Rondo could be a great coach, but we often see former PGs and stars become poor head coaches since they see the game at such a higher level than the players they coach. Role players tend to become better coaches. Just curious how the rest of y’all feel about that possibility.

He knows hoops, X&Os and is good with Bron. If we didn't just hire and fire one HC without HC experience I'd be more in favor. I think we do what Rob typically does and over correct for better or worse.

    Speaking of JJ though

Where is Ham on that list? Also, I'd put my $$ on Bron, LOL. Seems like a good return.
