Ham's job is "in jeopardy" and in "serious peril." Best news we could hope for after leading most minutes against the defending champs, yet losing.

The Q is now, to my mind, not "if" he gets fired, but WHEN...and I just circled June 15th on my calendar as the day the Lakers announce they're "parting ways" or "moving on" from Darvin Ham.

So: I got June 15th in the pool. I'd rather it be April 29th, but ya can't have everything.

Anyone else care to join the Ham Firing Date Prediction Pool?

Maybe I missed this line from the posts before, but yeah, he’s gone and he deserves to be. I’d be worried we’ll hire someone worse, but I’m not sure that’s possible, Reggie friggin Miller knew when we needed timeouts called tonight.

I’d have to think Atkinson is high on the list of potential replacements. I liked him in the last coaching search and definitely think he’s worth another look.

Darvin is a nice guy, terrible coach. I feel like he made numerous mistakes that led to our downfall.

    - Underutilized Austin Reaves as a play maker. You invested in the man… he showed great progress last playoffs, let the man do his work, instead he was regulated for much of the regular season, and even this series, as a catch and shoot player. He and DLO should’ve tooken the playmaking responsibilities for the most part, and that didn’t happen until it was too late.

    - mismanaged Rui’s minutes, and his role. I felt like Rui could’ve provided a lot more for us this season. He is a big body who proved he could play with some of the big guys down low, has a decent post game, quick first step in the post, and could bully players. I don’t think we gave the ball enough to Rui in the post, nor made him a focal point of the offense when the matchup was favorable to us. I think we should’ve got him in more pick and roll, and gotten him touches against MPJ, but it just didn’t happen.

    - With Gabe Vincent, his injuries were obviously not in Ham’s control, but when he decided to play him against Murray, then commit to it. Giving him 5 mins, and then coming back next game giving 10, then nothing… it was just too inconsistent and I’m sure sucked any confidence and flow out of Gabe. I thought he was decent, he just didn’t get a lot of burn.

    - He relied too much on Cam Reddish and Prince at one point. Cost us numerous games.

    - he had a lack of an ability to trust his players, and did not properly use all the tools at his disposal as a coach, to help his players.. (timeouts, challenges)

:KobeConfused: …. why that date? ENTIRELY too long to do it. After the Westbrook debacle 1st season with the crap filling out of the roster and many games missed by LeBron and AD they scapegoated and fired Frank soon as the game was over. This guy who clearly mishandled a far better situation roster wise and health wise for both of his stars now gets the courtesy of NOT being done the same way when he legitimately deserves it? Not saying You would opt to wait that long as obviously no one here, with the exception probably of one person …. would.

Meh…if the players just made their shots, called timeouts themselves, installed the offensive and defensive gameplans, called for their own challenges, and made their own substitutions, we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

Ham needs to be fired, but the Lakers inability to find a good coach doesn't make me confident we in the next one either.

I’m not excited about a coaching search at all but I think it has to be done with all the articles dropping.

"It's amazing how people just skip that core part of having a consistency with your lineup is all predicated on health and performance. If you're coaching a team and one of your starters is like 10 games in a row, just s---ing the bed, what are you going to do?" - Ham

I mean, how do you mend that? Lol.

Yep. And it wasn't one player, it was 3. Three of your five highest paid players "s*** the bed" according to Canned Ham and he benched them all. If it's one guy, might be the player. If it's 3/5 of your starters IT'S f***ING YOU! Darv must not own a mirror. Maybe it's not the Saginaw way.
