Something is off with this team. Maybe they realized their head coach sucks? Most outlets said we did well in free agency this offseason, but seeing how they all are playing, makes me think more issues behind the scene.

the injuries matter, but it's on the coach when you're getting blasted in every single first quarter. i read somewhere that our first quarter deficit after 8 games is historically bad.

if the guys you're putting out there aren't ready to play, put different guys out there. it's not acceptable to be down double digits in every first half, no matter what.

Here it is, worst first quarters for 8 straight games in all of NBA history. All but one was a double digit deficit and that one was close at 8 points down. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...ther-laughable-opening-frame-against-rockets/

Something's got to give here. Shake up the lineup or something. Of course I wish we could at least try Vando, but work with what you have. Take Reaves out and see if he doesn't have more energy coming off the bench. Swap Rui for Prince, we haven't seen Rui start yet. Just try something new cos it ain't working.

I haven’t been a big supporter of Hambone before this disastrous start, but he has had half the rotation out so far.
That being said, IF we don’t do damage in the playoffs and have the lion’s share of our pieces healthy, he should be removed.

Ham's mouth gets him in trouble by stating all these things he is going to do and how they are going to be the hardest working team in the league. Then nothing. When he opens his mouth I call BS before I've heard the first word. Players know this better than we do. Having our players back will help win some games but it won't solve the Ham issue.

Don't agree. It's the culture he wants to instill, he's been consistent with that since day 1. If players don't do it, that's another problem. And Ham is responsible too because it's his job to make the players follow his culture.

We saw it last year, we constantly came back of games and I can't recall having a blowout loss, just the other day we were talking about it here, that's the way Ham was as a player and has been as a coach.

This year it's clearly not working, I don't know why. LeBron is the leader and he's clearly strolling through games, turning it up when he wants but constantly having like a dozen plays a game where he doesn't close out, doesn't box out, doesn't come back in transition, etc. As I said before, I think at this point we need to live with that because he's 39 and he still makes the difference when it matters, we need that. It's up to the others to pick up the slack

Now, I do imagine LeBron talked to the roster and told them he would be saving energy during games and would turn it up later in the game. He was already vocal that this is AD team and I think that's the narrative internally. His career and demeanor should make players accept that and not feed off of his lack of effort but rather pick it up for him.
If this didn't happen, I can imagine being a source of this problem because usually you follow the leader

I absolutely agree with a change in the starting 5 and bring one of the guards off the bench, at least until Gabe is back. This is clearly not working

I do want to acknowledge Ham for recognizing we had playing like crap and making a change. First quarter still wasn't much but we won the game so kudos. One thing is obvious, LeBron doesn't like losing to KD.

You don't seem to think Frank is much of a coach so that doesn't seem like much to brag on.

Vogel sucks IMO..but most of this board disagrees.

poor vogel woke up in a re-run of having lebron/AD and a team full of minimums. only this time it's kd by himself with a team full of minimums.

Lol um actually NO...we have 8 players making more than the minimum, the Suns have 6.

KD and Beal make more than AD and Lebron. While Booker is snagging a cool 36M. Frankie won't have any excuses, we fully expect the Laker HC, to win with only LeBron or AD.

I’d take “Frankie” back everyday of the week and twice on Sunday for Ham.

Edit: as long as Danny Greens not on this team.

Abeer is talking about our team from 2 seasons ago after the worst trade in the history of professional sports gutted our team and our depth, which Vogel got blamed for not making work and unjustly fired.
