Lebron , AD and Reaves were all on the bench at one point during the game.

Ted Lasso still doesn't get it

The only thing to freak out about from last night is Darvin Ham IMO. This guy is clueless with rotations and doesn't know when to use his timeouts.

I think the minute limitation on AD and Bron are too complicated for him to figure out the math equation of how to make wise rotation decisions. He was bad with it, got better, and went back to not understand how to divide 48 minutes per position while not sitting Bron and AD at the same time or while having 2 of the 4 on the court at ALL TIMES.

I get him playing the guys after it looked out of reach in the 4th, atmosphere was as close to a playoff situation as we'll see before the play-in and he wanted reps and the tape. Risky, but I get it.

I don't understand the decision not to play Mo. Gabriel was getting abused by their Cs and Mo's has better length. Mo and DLO had the freshest, albeit rusty, legs. Gotta lean on that.

This is an organizational failure. If Ham can't do this, okay, any HC will have weak spots - but there is absolutely zero reason that an asst coach or even an "analytics guy" can't do this, and for Ham to use it.

That is an understandable reason...if it wasn't off a back to back playing 42 & 38 mpg. This coaching staff and organization just doesn't understand context. Bron & AD shouldn't have been playing at all imo, or at least on a tight minutes restriction. But even if they do play regular minutes...to do it when getting blown out near the end of the game - that is just plain stupidity and risking Bron & AD going down for the post-season, for very little benefit. There is just no understanding of risk vs reward here.

For sure. Gabriel at C has been bad. I like him, he is a good 3rd string backup PF, he is not a good C, not even a small ball backup C. He performed better pre-trade deadline when he was slotted correctly, and has performed worse in the misbegotten role this organization has forced upon him. If Bamba was medically fine to play, as we have been led to believe, there is no excuse for not playing him. He's gonna need to get reps in before we need him in the post season, and this was a perfect time for him to do so. Just terrible decision making here.

Ham has had a few good games recently, this wasn't one of them.

Teams are gonna double AD going forward into the playoffs. I sure hope Ham has some counters he’s cooking up in the lab.

A whole lot of pure utter nonsense in this thread, about a guy that finished the season on a 9-2 run, of "must win" games. Armchairs seem to think that NBA coaches are soo irrelevant, that they could be doing a better job. Or better yet, some internet " expert" has it all figured out, and it sounds good to them, so they parrot that BS on various message boards.SMH. Ham is getting the job done IMO, haters are going to hate.

I mean...Ham is a rookie coach and it showed. He had a wayyyyy better roster than Vogel did last year...so it's not an apples to apples comparison.

I'll say this - Ham has been better in the 2nd half of the season in terms of his rotation decisions. I HATED the 3guard lineup of russ bev and schorder....but luckily we have not seen anything like that because we saved him from himself and he's playing the right guys for the most part (except when he inexplicably benched Rui).

He is average, but he can get better. Playoffs will be a big test for him..starting with the play-in.

Frank sucked!! However I give him his due, we did get a chip with him.

With him pacing the sidelines with that woeful look on his face..saying "Come on guys"!! Or the infamous "Hey Lebron is this play ok with you?". Lol..I couldn't stand that dude.

The man has navigated a host of roster issues, injuries, poor chemistry, etc in his 1st season as a HC. The team never quit on him, and were competitive regardless of who he had available. Finished 9-2 in a high stakes end to the season , eradicating that poor 2-8 start. Hell of a damn coaching job IMO.

Now it remains to be seen if this roster is better than the one Frank had after the bubble. That team at least won two playoff games. This one...TBD But damn..imagine what this guy could do, with roster full of guys that fit his system.

He did a fine job, but I think everyone feels like he has room for improvement on rotations

He's not perfect, he's still a rookie HC..I'm just forcibly pushing back, on some of the over the top noise around here. I think we have a winner here in Darvin Ham.
