I guess he did get hurt on that play because AD is listed as out for tonight's game. Damn.

He should order more bubble wrap for Lebron and AD. Limit them to 25 minutes a game or something.

I mean I don't want to be a hater, but our defense is still beyond pathetic

I see no way Ham turns into a championship coach

Austin's low minutes with all the injuries is pure lunacy.

Austin was gassed..The man knows his players. He gets entirely too much nonsense thrown his way around here. This team somehow is still around late in the 4th with a chance to win, if we make plays, against just about every team, in every game. It doesn't matter who that team is, or who we have available. That is not some kind of example of a coach, that doesn't know what he's doing. We were getting our doors blown off by the 3rd quarter with Frank. Top 5 coach and all.

The players love Ham which is great and he will develop into a good coach. He is a rook and has made a lot of rookie mistakes. Right now his player usage is a bit shaky. We are in games because of how hard the players are playing. We have a lot of talent on this team even with AD, Lebron and D'lo out. We are not hanging in there by magical coaching. The players going all out is a combination of Ham being a good motivator and that Rob has provided us with players that play hard out of professionalism and pride. I'm a big supporter of Ham so I don't mind pointing out where improvement is needed. That is how we get better. Frank was a good coach for us. We do not have to diss him to build up Ham. Overall Austin's usage does not reflect how good of a basketball player he is.

To quote your frequent dismissive phrase, since you’re always so dismissive of Frank …. FOH with that nonsense! This roster without AD and LeBron is exponentionally better both sides of the ball, deeper, bigger, younger and more athletic than the garbage one with additionally the less cooperative and even worse version of Russ last year that Vogel had dumped on him. The ones on their cell phones were glued to the bench because they sucked (since that’s one of your pet disses of him you always bring up and blow way the **** out of proportion). Darvin is doing well now for a rookie but that is NO knock on Vogel who absolutely was fired as a fall guy for the mess he had to work with, including all the injuries as well, stars and rest of roster.

ham had a better roster than vogel and worse results for a good chunk of this year. and he got to bench russ! vogel did not have that option!

anyway, i liked that he attacked that robinson-earl guy on offense using schroder. it really tanked okc's defensive gameplan, imo. then he made nice adjustments moving gabriel and rui onto jalen williams and giddey for some possessions. they were feasting by getting smaller guys on their hip, but neither has incredible breakaway speed, so you should size up on them defensively.

Ham’s zone defense erased our early 11 pt lead but still used it again, later on, which lost another lead. Just insane:D

Frank sucking has nothing to do with building up Ham. They are separate topics, but we were getting our doors blown off with Frank, before we ever got Westbrook too. I was saying that he sucked in the season after the bubble. He won a chip though, and he deserved respect for that.

Now which roster are we talking about LT? Before we traded Westbrook or after? This season we started out by adding Dennis,Lonnie, Troy, and Bev, is that the deeper, bigger, younger and more athletic, that you are referring too? Idk

Now..I do think that at least on paper, this group after the Russ trade, is the deepest, youngest, most athletic group of Lebron's tenure as a Laker.

However I don't think that team after the bubble, was lacking talent or depth at all.

the bolded is just factually incorrect. we had the league's best defense and the 8th best net rating in the league. stop lying about this so we can have an actual debate. after we got russ, our defense dropped to 21 and net rating to 22. these are just facts. this year, net rating is 23. so ham did about as bad with russ as vogel did, and that was with the benefit of being able to bench him. the injury levels were about the same over these years, as you've pointed out ad nauseum.

if frank sucked, ham sucks worse. but frank didn't suck. russ did.

That’s the elephant in the room with this guy always with regard to his horrible takes on Russ. It was always someone else’s fault for the, in fact separate reality of his bad play last year. Vogel’s fault and LeBron and AD not playing together enough. When in fact that was the reason he was brought in “to be Russ of old”. He was given the keys plenty last year TOO. The “wins” were not going to happen with them out …. EVERYONE knows!! That did not excuse his INDIVIDUAL play last year “way too often”.

I was never all that impressed by the defense rating in the first place as you know Abeer. The two top defensive teams in the NBA that season, both got bounced in the 1st rd. I also don’t think our defense was the main reason that we won a chip either.

Yeah with all that said, we still got blown out by 15pts or more, in more games that season than in this one. This ability to bench Russ stuff seems to be the holy grail of defense of Frank. However when Ham moved him to the bench, there were articles out saying that Westbrook wasn't adverse to coming off the bench under Vogel, and Frank was the one against that idea.
At the end of the day, Russ didn't get Frank fired, Lebron and AD playing 21 games together was more of a factor, but Frank didn't do himself any favors with his rotations, being slow to adjust to what the other team was doing, and general lack of any offense besides give it to Lebron, and he'll figure it out.

Westbrook didn't get Frank Vogel fired dude, He wasn't brought in to be the Westbrook of old either, so says everyone involved. If everyone knows that Lebron and AD's absence was the main reason, why are you still talking about Westbrook?

the season-long net rating captures all of this in all the seasons discussed. you don't get to just pick a window to make a general argument. your general argument was the frank sucked as a coach, and it's a freaking terrible argument.
