That’s what I’m thinking unless we decide to trade one of our max players for him. But I don’t think that is Rob’s intent.

I'd prefer Luka when Lebron is done .

Glad we won't add a 3rd superstar , there is no joy in winning like this .

i agree. i mean, i suppose if it falls in your lap (you draft or develop one and had two or some such), but the miami heat were pretty detestable.

You need a strong 8 deep to win, and if literally you have almost all minimum contracts or exceptions after those top 3, that’s super tough to pull off.

even the Heat needed Ray Allen, Battier, and several other mid level types of players, and even then lost.

I’m loving the combination of talent and value that Rob has put together. It’s absolutely awesome.

I wanted to ask you this either way - I know you were not very fond of last year's team, do you really like the new version?

I’ve never been a huge LeBron fan, and I think that is well documented. I didn’t like bringing on some guys that I felt didn’t deserve to wear the highest regarded jersey in the entire sport. J.R. Smith? The cat from Miami?

we went from grooming youngsters that we saw growing up before our eyes to a team of mercenaries, and even signed some low-quality character people. Throughout the entire season I just felt no connection to the team at all.

I started doing some watching during the bubble, and there was a shift from playing LeBron ball where he held the ball far too much early in the season to a much more motion type of offense that was more enjoyable to watch. Early in the season it was just ugly basketball even if we were winning.

I did enjoy watching the playoff run, and I could get behind who we have signed this year more so than last year. at this point I intend to watch more games than last year, make a new batch of gifs, and cut Lebron a little more slack.

rob has done a good job stacking some talent around him, and I hope he is ready to let go of the reins a little bit during the regular season so we have some watchable basketball.

this is important. i feel like he felt forced go into that mode so that we didn't fall behind in the standings, which makes sense. hopefully, coming off a title and with a couple more capable offensive players on the roster, we won't be in that position.

the main demon this year is fighting off fatigue and the title hangover. i'm preparing myself for a lot of moaning and us being in 6th place a couple months into the season. some big new pieces that will alter how we play, plus needing to rest lebron more and a bit less urgency is a recipe for a slow start.

6 new players and younger overall, so I’m thinking it might be less of a slow start than we might think. Might depend how far Lebron is in cruise mode.

6 new, but 3 of them will be in the heavy rotation, and like i said, two of them (harrell and schroder) play very differently than we did last year. but i hope you're right. i just think it will take a while to figure out how things will work.

Both AD and AC kind of alluded to the new blood should help fend of the potential complacency of just winning. We have to nail down chemistry pretty quickly for that to happen and everyone has to buy in again, but I think it's possible. Marc and Wes are consummate pros. I think Trez's motor will blend him in the mix easily. Schrod is the only question mark for him, especially with his lineup ideas.
