This too for me was the biggest thing I took away as well. Luke wants to create a culture where his coaching staff trusts the players and when there is a right balance there the players feel they have more freedom on the court. When they feel they have more freedom because of the culture you put in place where its fun coming into work, you start to care more about the team and getting better. All of this will translate into more wins in due time.

The example Luke gave of Kerr and the rest of the GSW staff canceling practice when the team was in Minnesota to go bowling was great. When you built that kind of cohesion with the staff and the players that is when special things start to happen. Byron would never say "Lets go bowling, the whole team"

^True...they'd end up running drills as punishment. Things which will suck the life out of a group. Hibbert did organize a paint-ball outing at the start. To think a player has to do that to build morale...

He might've. But whoever bowls under 200 has to run wind sprints the entire week and gets reduced playing time in the 4th quarter.

I wonder if Walton will be repping us at the draft? I'm looking forward to the reactions and accounts of his interactions with Russell, Randle, Clarkson and Nance in the next few weeks. Those and whoever we select at number two... Of course, the holdover vets that we have on board.

Also... I never knew Shaw was that tall. Even considering dress shoes, he looks 6'7" easily (or DAR is really 6'2" or something).

Great presser. Loved it! Such a breath of fresh air.

Sounds like he's pulling culture from GS (culture change was a big sell to the FO), ideology from Phil, principles and X&Os from all his coaches.

Luke said he will be at the draft. Didn't really say whet he would be doing though

I know this is where the term originated. Still, like me some angry Uncle Sam.
