Well... It really is surprisingly anti-climatic.

    f*** you, Magic.

I wish Luke the best of luck, while I didn’t love everything he did I think he will be a good coach one day in the NBA. We are a mess right now.

That deserves 5 Kobe vomits... Pelinka running the search and Lue as a frontrunner... both repugnant to my senses!!!

I can't stay away, the drama is too much!

Good riddance Luke. I said "Fire him" in this very thread a few days ago. And my wish was granted. Let those Kings have fun sniping about his rotations and his lack of tactics. Hope he didn't let the door hit him in the butt on the way out.

I am not sad at all. Goodbye and good luck, Luke. Sac is probably a better fit for him with a young core and a lot of upside. He wasn't going to make it as Lebron's coach.

Bye Luke. Thanks. You'll be missed by some. Missed even more when one of the targeted options get hired by Rob.Step backwards.

Monty Williams. Love the guy. Is he the coach with the track record we're looking for? 5 season HC experience, win record of .436. That's the guy we want?

So we can get AD? Are we really picking coaches based on their relationships with one or two players? That's extremely short-sighted, you don't want your execs making plans like that. Coaches develop chemistry, rotations, playbooks, and a culture. You hire a coach for their locker room presence, X's & O's, leadership, etc. Recruitment HELPS but this is not the NCAA.

Getting Ty Lue = Klutch/LeBron calling the Laker shots; Not a good look to free agents. Is Ty Lue any better a coach than Luke Walton? Didn't he break down in Cleveland, didn't LeBron call the shots? The man coached a team that barely broke 50 wins with 3 all stars and rode a monster LeBron season to 50 wins last year. That's the guy we want?

I never maintained Luke was the best coach for us but I also thought there was no one better. Is Monty any better? Lue?

If these are the names we're going with then I am utterly disappointed in the Lakers.

Lue coached a team to beat the 73 win Warriors, so he’s the GOAT tbh

Then they fired him, so he sux.

What I’m trying to say is I don’t know the answer, but I did see Ty Lue make adjustments in that series that I don’t think Luke has shown capability of doing. I don’t think he’d be worse for sure.

Monty might be solid, but under .500 as a coaching record isn’t exciting. Opportunity plays s role, but other stuff does too. David Blatt was actually a very solid coach, but Lebron didn’t like him, so he had to go back to Europe.

The next coach’s success or lack of will be on a Lebron.

The only adjusting going on was with the dudes Draymond kicked in the crotch as they tried to walk it off. He cost them a title. Lue is fine, but dude had to take a leave due to anxiety coaching LeBron in CLEVELAND. Coaching LeBron as he declines with the LA media? I fear a heart attack.

Dont care who the coach is. Pelinka is leading the search which means we are screwed either way.

Rudy T will be waiting in the tunnel with a bottle. Lue won't last till all star break mentality, if he's our pick

There is a zero percent chance Luke and his crappy rotations, non-existent offense, etc etc wins a championship with that Cleveland team.

284 pages on this thread and I’m not sure you could fill ten of them with things Luke actually does well.

I’m sure he’s a nice guy but he’s extremely replaceable.

Lue is probably third or fourth on my list of guys but nah, I don’t think Luke is better than him at all TBH.

My only concern is Pelinka heading the search.
