Starting to come on board with the fire Luke now crowd. He’s not the sole reason for our failures but he’s helping much either and it’s obvious that he doesn’t have much longer anyways. Yeah there are no obvious elite replacements on the market, but there has been talk about Shaw being the guy.

I don’t know if Shaw has it in him, so if we fired Luke in the summer and then replaced him with Shaw I wouldn’t be particularly optimistic.

But give Shaw the reigns now and see what he can do. Gives you more time to make an educated decision in the summer.

I would still wait for the season to end to fire him, but yea, Lukes a goner at this point.

How you not have at least Lebron, Kuz, or Ingram on the floor at all times is beyond baffling.

I think we should go after a defensive minded coach like Jeff Van Gundy

I'd go after Jay Wright. Need a Pat Riley type who can fit the image and coach this generation. I couldnt give a flying eff about Lebron. f*** him. I would trade him in the off season. Brandon Ingram is getting better. Kuzma is a future star. Lakers need to get away from this Lebron circus. He is a cancer.

Jay Wright part was rational, rest was the Taylor Swift "Oh yeah right" gif worthy like there's a snowball's chance in hell of happening.

Not that it doesn't have merit.

He's not the 1st reason for our failures , Maginka is .

However Luke can't see Rondo and Lance should stay on the bench

I don't mind getting rid of Luke. What I am more worried about is who our brain-dead front office will replace him with.

There is a great chance they do more harm than good with their next asinine decision to bring in a guy like Kidd.

There is no question that Magic and Pelinka lack basketball competence. Magic is a great business man and Pelinka is probably a smart lawyer and knows the cap etc as well as anyone but they sure as hell suck at evaluating basketball talent and understanding to build a complex roster with fitting pieces.

Rondo needs to be in games but also needs to stop with the f****** hot dog passes that don't get where they are going. That underhand low rocket cross court last night would have been slick of course if it got there.

I don't put this all on Luke. LeBron, for all of his defensive liabilities, is right on the intensity front. Defensive effort requires much more effort and intensity than offensive effort. This is why we miss Zo so much, his quickness and effort cover for the team's shortcomings particularly on the perimeter. Teams operate way too easily on the perimeter and low/high action. Our low post presence is non-existant when McGee is out of the game (Where is Zu? ... lol). Luke is likely a goner unless a significant turnaround happens and Zo will be out another 2-3 weeks. Given that, I'd change the lineup and rotations. I'd start my best defensive lineup. BI, Hart, Bullock, LeBron and McGee. LeBron needs to move permantly to PF (he should have been on Randle the whole game last night) and provide a post presence. Sorry, give him 30 minutes, but Kuz comes off the bench. When Zo comes back, he replaces Hart. Rondo's minutes need to be limited, at this point in his career, having LeBron, Kuz, and Rondo on the floor at the same time is a walking layup line. I'd only go eight deep (sorry Lance ... it not all your fault) and hope that DeAndre Jordan becomes available (McGee's minute restrictions are killing us). #GoLakers

not looking forward to this being the mark jackson or tyronn lue thread.

i rack my brain on what luke should be doing and come up with very little. maybe that means that i, too, am an idiot. but it's not like you can just put in a shooter or great defender on this roster. you're like: we need a stop. you look down the bench. you keep looking down the bench. you silently sob.

Xs and Os. Fine. Mandate better staff. We'Re going to get a retread for a few years to make Bron happy when Luke does so much that is rare and is excellent in those regards and could be here 20 years with excellent staff and himself getting better. If not hamstrung by FO's weird roster building and personnel decisions. But he will be the scapegoat.
