OK that's it. I'm rooting for OKC to win that series.

Damn. I hope the problem isn't financial and it's just fit. I love Shaw and I know players respect him. He's a great assistant. Screw off Nate! Luke needs the help more!

Here's Bill Oram's actual piece. It sounds like Shaw really wants to go home to Oakland so he can be around his family as much as possible. His son is about to graduate high school and I'm sure Brian would love to be there for that. Brian tried to get the lead assistant job last summer, but Kerr gave it to Luke instead. Now that Luke is out, it sounds like Brian is trying to get that job again, but if he takes that job right away he'll miss out on other jobs that are likely to be gone (LA's lead assistant, Indy's lead assistant, Houston head coach, Orlando head coach, Memphis head coach...)

Tough call. If he wants to be with his kids, I'm cool with it. Family comes first. I just hope we can scoop up a head coach from somewhere after the dust settles.

Aren't the Queens still searching? Last I read they're taking a look at what would be a rookie head coach which is laughable with the personality problems they've had on the roster. Mr. “Sure we make a lot of money, but we spend a lot, too.”

Sacramento hired Joeger, the ex-Memphis head coach.

The openings now are: Houston, Orlando, and Memphis.

A'll be honest, Dragic and Harden together in the backcourt running an MDA system? Ariza on the wing? I think KJ McDaniels (who was terribly underutilized last season for them) becomes a really good contributor for them. That could be really interesting.

Swaggy did well with MDA. Maybe we can dump Swaggy on Houston? :D Swaggy for McDaniels...straight up trade?

If we could somehow get value back for Nick Young, I think Mitch's wand is in full effect. The Lakers are almost certain to stretch him at this point and get him off the team...

Dragic in Houston does make a ton of sense, but I'm not sure Houston is going to make that easy for Miami. 1) it wasn't too long ago Bosh spurned Houston to stay in Miami and 2) timing is going to be crucial. Houston and Miami are rivals this summer trying to attract big FAs. Both of them for instance will sit down with Durant. I can't imagine Houston taking Dragic in just so Miami could try to sign a FA that they covet.

So, this is a tad off from the topic at hand, but I really like these series of articles about the GS motion offense and defensive principles.

NOTE: They are from Kerr's 1st preseason, so they aren't complete with EVERYTHING GS does today and it's a bit simplistic in its breakdown.

But all in all its a nice light read for anyone wanting to get a slightly better idea of what's going on and what we might be able to expect from the team next season.

^@JSM post... LOL! I figure Walton would want success hinging on experienced assistants.
