So no alternative solutions, you just want to argue against anyone that thinks Luke isn't terrible. Got it
Defending Scott, defending Luke; it' all the same. We get more talent; I expect more wins. This was pegged by most as a 30 win squad at the very least when we started the season? Let's see if we finish with more wins than last year with a relatively healthy roster from here on forward.
You realize you often come off your hard nosed stances after a reasonable amount of time and circumstance for the distained entity to have a chance to prove themselves? See Lonzo Ball. We have nearly 2/3 of the season left. Stop being a millennial.
scott had 2 finals appearance to his coaching cred, was still a bad coach n a duche....luke has a 24gm streak baby sitting a powerhoue team, but since he's likable, losing gets ignored lol. Luke the coach is like luke the player....dude balled it up contract yr, post contract a plethora of excuse for his declining play such as injuries, change in roles, etc. the dumbest being because they switched back to the normal ball over that weird multi color ball lol
wait, some of you actually think luke has good enough pieces to work with for this team to be better? -he's got 3 rookies in ball, kuzma, and hart -guys like randle, nance, and clarkson who come in and play their role but are not difference makers -over the hill brook lopez and KCP who has been in and out of jail while he's not chucking up 3s BI is on the up but still is not capable of putting the team on his back that's not a team capable of winning 30+ games
OK so if you're going to bring up OKC, we are winning 50 games next year with our current roster like they dd in 09 right? Of course we would. We'd definitely have more talent and experience than they did Not enough experience is a poor excuse when we have vets like Randle, Clarkson, KCP, Bogut and Lopez. Our defense was good to start the season but Luke's rotation has been horrific and we have zero half-court offense. Our key contributors (Ball/Kuzma/Ingram) are getting hurt and fatigued due to being unnecessarily overplayed, all while under-utilizing one of our best players in Randle. I blame Luke for at least 5-7 games lost.
BTW teams with an average age under 25: (24.94) Denver: 21-19 (24.53) Portland: 21-18 (24.38) Boston: 33-10 (24.35) Philadelphia: 19-19 (24.25) LAKERS: 12-27 (24.00) Phoenix: 16-26 (24.00)Chicago: 14-27 Please, no more excuses. We are much more talented than Chicago or Phoenix with similar experience. We shouldn't be sitting at the bottom of the league.
wow, records are all over the place, and that list represents less than a year between total average age.
I'd blame Luke for 5 games lost this year. Sure. So by that calculation, if Luke did everything right, we'd be at 17-22 right now. Would you really be that happy with that record, or would you admit that age and inexperience closing games has a big part to do with that record? We would, in fact, still be in exactly the same spot on that list you gave. Does Luke get the credit for the wins? How about building a top 10 defensive team (until we hit the GS, Rockets, etc toughest stretch of the season) out of a bunch of rookies and mostly non-defenders? How about being in nearly every game until the end this season? And who are the closers on those teams? The ones that will get you a basket when you need it for the win? Portland: Lillard- 7th year pro, McCullum- 5th year pro Boston: Irving- 7th year pro, one of the best players in the game Philadelphia: The one and only team in the NBA regarding age doing better than us with a similar situation with game closers Phoenix: Booker- Super talented scorrer, but they're still losing Chicago: Have no one. So as you can see, philly is the only team similar in age doing better than us, and Embid and Simmons are talented as f***, so I can't be mad at that.
Dude. Deng pushes our entire roster's average age by 2 years. But seriously, we are a couple games behind some of those teams.with a tougher schedule.
Given our schedule, yes, I'd be content with 17-22. We'd have a chance to finish the season with 40 games. I give him both the credit and blame for our record. The fact is we've won 12 games. We are on pace to win LESS GAMES THAN LAST YEAR. That is inexcusable by any measure, any sport, or any industry to be honest. Whether it be selling shoes or packaging groceries, a losing business needs to replace it's manager. You think the stockholders care if the employees are young and motivated but not quite closing the sale? Hell no. We need a new leader and a new system. Stop the bleeding asap. We are 4 games behind the Suns, man. That's all that needs to be said.
We need to be at least a couple of games ahead of horrible teams like the Suns or Bulls, regardless of our schedule. We are underachieving. I don't think anyone can question that.
So 5 games, halfwway through the season is a good reason to fire a second year coach? No, i cant disagree more No, we were on pace to lose a lot more than we did last year until teams started sitting their players against us at the end of the season. That stint accounted for like 6 wins at the end last year. A Suns team that's actually much older than us minus grandpa Deng
Let the haters hate! He's not going anywhere this year. Mintz already thinks Luke's a good coach so we good on the PG13 front. So it's on LaBron now...If he's good with Luke, dudes straight and from how he overlooked the Dubs, Luke knows how to manage a team of stars. Now hate on folks, but try not to lose any sleep over it. Looks like he ain't going anywhere any time soon. #InLukeWeTrust
5 games now equals 10 games for the entire season. 30 vs 40 wins is a big difference I'd say. We would have won 30 games last year if we hadn't traded away our best player in Lou Williams and blatantly tanked there after. This year we're actually trying to win and we're at 12-27. (probably 13-27 in a few minutes) They're oldest player (Chandler) is 3 years older than Deng....
It's not the difference between a good coach and he needs to be fired IMO. 2nd year coach. He gets the same slack I give Ingram. Luke makes some stupid decisions but I see potential, and I think above all, Magic, Luke and everyone in the organisation said before this season that this team would be a multi year process. Nothing's changed. We ssssssuuuuuucked much worse at this point of the season last year. Mostly blowouts with no defense. We started to come around after the allstar break and finished strong after a bunch of teams didn't even try to win since they were getting ready for the playoffs. My point being that last stretch of wins at the end of the season made us look a lot better than we were. If the teams we beat actually played their best players, we might have ended the season on 20 wins, so no, this team isn't looking the same since we've only had a few blowouts this whole season so far. No idea how we'll end, but we look better for sure and some of that is Luke's coaching. The difference is that Deng is the outlier on our roster bringing the average age up, while on Phoenix, Booker and Bender and Jackson are the outliers bringing their age down. And unlike us, most of their older players actually play. We are a lot younger than them.
