So simmons n embiid arent franchise changing players? N they dont have dead weight salary like deng either
So do I. Lonzo, Ingram, and Kuzma is a heck of a young trio to be excited about. Not sure what everyone is so upset about. This is a young team playing with a lot of young guys in the rotation. When Lonzo is back in the lineup we’ll be starting two rookies and another player under 21. Then you add in were in the West of course the team will struggle. I’ve still seen plenty of signs of promise. Like a lot of young teams the Lakers struggle with consistency on both ends of the court, but I’m confident they can get there in time.
My patience with Luke, Magic and Rob are wearing thin here. Do something and do it now. Stop screwing around with players, stop trying to sell us on summer of 2018 when we have half of this season still to play. We sure aren't looking like the franchise that has so much prestige to our name.
I understand the frustration in this losing streak (especially cause there were some winnable games to be had), but to already be losing hope in Magic/Pelinka/Luke is something I don't get. Luke has maddening rotations, but seeing how our core pieces this year are all playing together for the first time, there will be growing pains (see OKC). Oh and we're the 3rd youngest team in all the land. And our coach is in his 2nd year as a head coach. And we don't have a legitimate allstar on this team...yet. The assessment on Luke is TBD cause we don't know how his rotations are being influenced by ongoing trade talks. Which brings me to Magic/Pelinka. DLo trade got us a change in culture and the 27th pick (Kuz) all while dumping Moz. Yeah yeah, the SOD coulda been had at 28 tho...uh, well that was Magic (recall Rob wasn't even hired at that time yet) with the Lou deal to Houston. Now add Zo, Hart and the potential that is TBryant to the mix and that's an impressive 1st draft for Mag/Rob. Ideally when you take on a new project, a person comes to the table with a clean canvas. Magic and Pelinka had a Deng doodle over here and thankfully blotted out the Moz splatter over there. They were gunning for PG (tampering charges told us just as much), but couldn't get it done. They got a line of communication to LaBron via KCP. So they got a f***ed up workspace, but some how got it to half way decent (no longer dead last in defense and not getting blasted by other teams ending in competitive games where we the fanbase believe we should have gotten Ws in some of them). That's progress folks and that's encouraging enough to be patient with IMHO.
I like Magic and Pelinka. I think they will succeed even if it takes some time. I especially like Rob. No problem there. However, Luke sucks. And Magic and Rob, at the very least, need to upgrade his assistants.
So disappointed in Luke; just completely Byron Scott-esque in somethings he is doing. This is going to get worse; and we might start hearing some talk (Job Security) about Luke in the next week or two, if this doesn't turn around. IMO.
He's probably got negative thoughts about you as well harking back to the CL days when you were never around and left Suzy with all the hard work. Though my dates may be off just a little.
Amazing the knee jerk reactions to a bunch of kids, some of which aren't old enough to drink having a rough time in a loaded, veteran Western Conference. Why is anyone upset with Magic and Rob? What were they supposed to do this offseason? Their FIRST offseason! We ended up with an all star caliber center who has seemingly regressed (not really their fault) and they got KCP who we all thought was a perfect fit and a great one year stop gap. They drafted Kuzma and Hart in the late 20's. We are young as heck. Phil Jackson used to do some VERY questionable things. The difference is he had Shaq and Kobe or Pau and Kobe in their primes to cover up some dumb decisions he made. As quickly as we've turned on Luke here with a team full of children, I'm not sure there is a coach in the world who we could accept for more than two weeks. The Randle thing is befuddling to be sure. But they must know he's not going to be part of the team's future.
I feel like everyone expected us to struggle in this loaded West during the Summer, but now that the expectations have come to pass, people are losing their minds. We all hoped we could exceed expectations, but Luke’s rotations etc don’t make All the difference in a 11-23 record. Too many key players are just too young to know how to win games down the stretch, so every game we have to rely on tenacity and determination to win us games, but that can only take a team so far.
