also want to address poster who said stevens is an anomaly n not the norm....ill accept that arguement but doesnt take away from the fact that you can see the making of a good coach w/o giving them a star studded team. better example would be atkinson, brk head coach. That team has even less talent than we do n they to are consistently competitive but im sure bk fans could see that the team would be good once they get enough talent. I dont believe luke will do that for the team even if/when we can get those talents

I only partially agree, it’s not that black and white. Good head coaches surround themselves with competent assistants to can HELP them when they see stuff the head coach may not. Madsen for example seems like a good guy, but he shouldn’t be on Luke’s staff just because he was here when Luke came in. Shaw shouldn’t be the top assistant because he’s a former Laker either. Luke should have the most qualified assistants with more experience than him to help him grow. Football and basketball aren’t the same, but take the Rams for example, McVay brought in Wade Phillips as defensive coordinator and it’s working brilliantly. Young coach, so he has decades of experience on his staff.

rams d isnt even ranked highly, their O is the reason they're good n thats cause Mcvey has a proven system n it showed with rams being highest scoring team while redskins has declined. sure we could use better asst to enhance a coach that has a solid foundation/system...something i dont feel like luke has/had. To me anyways, everything luke does is a poorer attempt at copying the successful teams, he doesnt have his own brand of ball

It's not even about Xs and Os , just about being unable to make the obvious proper rotations which already cost us 4-5 games .

Also he's Magic-Pelinka little dog by helping them pushing Julius out of the door and giving KCP Klay Thompson like greenlight

If I got a nickle evertime we switched on defense, I'd be able to afford courtside tickets in a week.

We would have been a notch better if we had a better coach. I am/was on the #firelukewalton wagon since his cluster**** rotation in that second Clipper game, he just doesn't have what it takes to be a competent coach

If we fire Luke, who do we replace him with? There is no one out there, that's available, that I want coaching this team.

I'm at the point of being okay with signing Lebron just so he can get Luke fired.

Can anyone tell if we're running any type of set offense out there when not running or fast breaking?

Typically we are running a number of different sets, but the players only know specific roles so when guys are missing there's lots of confusion and the offense can devolve into screen and rolls.

explore some college coaches again? Olie, Shaka Smart, anyone else follow college ball and pays attention to coaching? I like to see thats getting more out of their guys who are avg type. Yes I know Stevens is an anomaly and Donovan hasn't done so well with OKC. We need someone who's doing something different, no more recycled coaches or these failed coaches. Or get some one from Pops coaching tree, so far Bud/Atkinson have done well for themselves (bud not so much now since he lost his stars).
