Some of the worst lineups I've ever seen out there tonight. Thanks Luke. Made it that much more difficult to get a W.
This is my biggest issue. The rotations are what they are. Last night we had guys completely unwilling to compete, so he had to dig into his bench a little and look for some heart. I don't mind that really. What I do mind is schematically having everyone switch every screen. That's okay if it's working because we've got a few guys with the potential to defend multiple positions, but when our guards keep getting switched onto a 7 footer and he keeps getting layups, maybe it's time to rethink that f***ing strategy and force these guys to compete through screens instead of switching. I don't know if that's his fault or the players are calling audibles out there, but get some f***ing control of the situation. And yes it's about time he calls out the refs. We've had about 2-3 games here with baffling bad calls going against us. Last night was another example of just truly awful refereeing even if that wasn't the reason we ultimately lost.
not having clarkson out there at the end after the game he had is mindblowing. like WTF are you thinking luke? i still think some of you hate on him way too much but that is just inexcusable and good on him for calling out the refs. it's been effing atrocious the last few games
How about sharing some blame yourself for that matter? All these kids you had and then took off. Look how they're turning out.
I'm not ready to quit on Luke yet but man his rotations are so bad, why does he feel like he needs to experiment at least once a game. What angers me most is the constant switching on defense, I say it every game! Switch when you absolutely have to! So many times a game when the opponent sets a half-assed screen and we switch giving them a horrible mismatch of guard on big man.
Luke is good for another year at least. With a max player/closer along with this crew, we get different results, and he'll be judged differently. "I think" Until then, I'm confused what the heck he's thinking.
You definitely have to give Luke a chance with better talent around him, absolutely. I think the HC spot on a team is the easiest position to critique. And the only thing that suppresses that is winning which we're moving closer and closer to that becoming more of a habit.
Don't have Lopez, Ball or Ingram, why not play Randle more? I'm starting to think there's something personal going on between Luke/Randle/Lakers FO. There's definitely something there. But when it's costing you wins you're in the wrong Lakers staff
Let's be honest, Randle is not the most "coach-friendly" player in the world. He does a lot of good things, compounded with a lot of bone-headed decisions that can drive even the most experienced coaches crazy. At some point, Luke and Randle will have to come to an understanding if we do resign Randle next offseason. Pop had to do something similar with Ginobli who initially drove Pop nuts during their early years together.
