Yes, the defense is garbage. Nevertheless, the starting 5looked better, rotations were much more crisp, and the right players were playing with one another and those players closed the game.

It's a step in the right direction.

Gotta accept that we are not a good team, not even mediocre. We have a long way to go before being decent but it's nice to win against inferior competition. Let's just pull some upsets to have a decent not laughably bad record.

Offense execution is more important to me than D right now for me personally and thought we played noticeably better on D and thats without KCP.

Were gonna be winning some and losing some... Gotta make sure were competitive game in and game out.

I'm not a Walton believer but I will give him credit for something I know Byron would have been too stubborn to do:

He not only benched Deng 1 game after starting him...he made him INACTIVE because that's how bad he is for this team.

To do that to a veteran player who's also one of the highest paid players on our team after starting them takes balls.

Credit to luke for that and also having much much better rotations this game.

My only worry now is the Randle situation. Luke needs to figure that out quickly before we lose Randle completely and we're forced to deal him for next to nothing without dumping Deng in the process.

my other big worry is the defense...can't give up 130 to the worst team in the league, even though we won the game.

I blame luke for this lost. He killed the momentum by taking out Ingram, we had great defense with all the switching and versatility. Luke messed up. I love Zo but we needed offense

Luke has done absolutely nothing to justify his hype.

I can't say he is good or bad...but its fair to say that he hasn't really set the world on fire with his rotations and player management. I don't see the huge improvement over Scott as he also seems to have issues with players (Russell, Randle, Clarkson etc.)...it is certainly fair to say the players are bad characters but whats the friggin point if the coach has no impact on them?

The entire point of having a coach is to positively influence the player...and he has completely messed up the Randle situation, he also completely miss-managed D'Angelo last year. He didn't do Clarkson any favor by changing his role on a weekly basis and he also didn't play Deng or Mozgov even though he publicly said how great they are and how he wanted them on the team etc...

He doesn't have the experience nor the cojones...he talks about culture for now more than a year but I ain't seen nothing yet.

Luke has been pretty mediocre thus far. But I'm not sure any coach would have them playing much better. We're a bunch of kids. Luke is essentially coaching a college team. Brad Stevens would have the squad playing better defense. But whatever.

people say this team doesn't have enough talent but the come back last night was mostly talent/skill not exactly executions....so that shouldn't be a crutch for Luke, he just can't coach or his system isn't very conducive to this team success, our O is mostly ISO's and our D is probably bottom 3 already if not the worse

If I was Luke, I'd consider staring Randle or Kuzma on Wed against Washington. Morris is an easier cover than what we've seen so far at PF.

This I do like from Luke, as opposed to B0ron who we KNOW was forced to play Russ and Randle (and eventually Clarkson).

If the rookies earn minutes, they play. If Deng sucks, he’s out of the rotation by game 2.

Credit to Walton for rewarding Randle by letting him finish the game and all of OT. The latter got his wish now has to show consistent effort.

Didn’t understand that lineup with Brewer and Kuzma at..C I think? When he finally put Randle in we turned it around. Credit for that I guess, but that lineup before that almost cost us the game. I’ve been as down on Randle as almost anyone, but dude only played 6 1st half minutes and was 3/4, I don’t see that as a reason to rot on the bench til the 4th.

Maybe Luke is pulling a Phil-type mind trick. Frustrating Randle so much that he HAS to become Draymond 2.0
