Good. Screw Riley. Riley after all these years of telling Wade he'd give his money later refuses to do it? Just amazing what a piece of **** Riley is.
You don't blame him? He spent years telling Dwayne Wade he'd give him his due cash at the end of his career, then the end of his career comes up and Riley won't give it to him? I don't even like Wade, but he gave his heart and soul to that city and Riley stole millions from him. Wade was never the highest paid player on the Heat, consistently gave up cash to make the team competitive, and Riley failed to reward the sacrifice. The Heat weren't going to win anything this season anywa. What's the harm in rewarding the warrior who fought for you for 13 years at less money than he deserved?
wade's the guy who brought lebron and bosh to riley, not the other way around. good luck with whiteside as your centerpiece and franchise icon. at least boston sold their soul for some high picks. you sold yours because...you wouldn't dump josh mcroberts? have fun, greaseball.
No I don't blame him. Wade is a great player, but he's 34 years old and even though he had a great postseason he's been on the decline for five years or so. You don't pay players what they did in the past it's what they're projected to do going forward. That's the same mistake the Lakers made. As much as I love Kobe paying him 50 million or whatever it was for a guy who was clearly gonna be a shell of himself going forward especially after the Achilles injury was a huge mistake.
While I disagree with your premise that great players shouldn't be rewarded, I'll also point out that it's two different situations. The Lakers NEVER promised Kobe they'd give him money on the back end. They just gave him money. Wade was promised money on the back end and Riley never gave it to him. In fact he offered him a contract below market value in his final few years. If you're cool with that, then I'm afraid we don't have much to discuss here.
Not sure what went on with Arison / Riley there. Their acrimony has been building up since last offseason and I was surprised Wade stayed for one more year. I also feel Bosh will be forced into medical retirement unless something change this offseason with his treatments / health. At least they still got Whiteside and Dragic. An end of an era in Miami.
Think the players around the league aren't taking notice? Kobe got taken care of. Wade didn't. We'll see the fruits of the Lakers labors one day. Trust me.
D*** move by Riley to convince Wade to take less money for years so they could win and say he'd make up for it later and then give it to Bosh, Dragic, and Whiteside, plus go after Durant before him. Better business moves, sure, but it's a bad look and now Miami is mediocre while Riley's sleaziness is exposed. Good for Wade, Chicago is one East team I always root for, and that probably continues even though I don't like Rondo or Wade really. Still, nice to see Riley get his for what we know was collusion with the whole LeBron thing and I'm sure some under the table stuff going on.
Rondo, Wade, Butler, Taj, Lopez... Legit And with the Wade move, it means that noone from that draft class has stayed with the team that drafted them
I'm happy for Wade finally sticking it to the Heat. So underappreciated and taken for granted. With that said, I always used to hate Wade so SCREW YOU!
Chicago has had a productive offseason in terms of essentially trading away Rose/Noah and receiving talent back in return. Bulls outgoing: Rose, Noah, Dunleavy, Justin Holiday Bulls incoming: Rondo, Wade, Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant How it all fits is another question. Not sure how Rondo/Wade/Butler all share the ball.
