the Houston fans all claim that the source of the harden/howard rumor has an axe to grind with the organization. ok, sure, but I'm also not buying that things are hunky dory there. and I know we hate howard (I'm in on this), but it's not like harden's someone I'd want to play with, either. those two deserve each other. and morey deserves them as franchise cornerstones, the smug bastard.
They turned that deal down? Haha, what do they expect to get for Dwight when everyone knows they're having a Dwight fire sale for the deadline.
ESPN radio interviewed McChale this morning. He said D Coward " isn't the problem in Houston..... and he's not the answer either". Very telling statement and brutally honest. Off topic, but he also said he was pumped last year after beating the Clips and going to the WCF. He walked into the meeting room with his assistants and asked what the game plan was for GS. He said all of his assistants started mumbling and looking at the floor. LOL. He said they had no answer for anything GS did.
I thought it was a forgone conclusion someone would pay Dwight the max this summer. I'm not so sure now.
Looks like they should have taken Charlotte's deal. What the hell were they thinking they could get a good player and a good pick for him, its not 2010.
very curious to see how Houston plays FA. Dwight's cap hold is pretty big, so they either have to come to terms or drop his bird rights pretty quick if they want to bid on other FAs. meanwhile, I'm sure teams interested in howard know the exact cap numbers that would make morey uncomfortable, and they'll let howard's agent know they're willing to pay that amount on day one. still...not sure al Jefferson and hawes are the answer, either. i would have rejected that if i were Houston, too. I'd rather have 25 million to spend in FA than Jefferson/hawes.
I'm not sure motivation for Dwight is the problem. I think he doesn't like Harden and has already checked out. If Atlanta is willing to let Horford walk, they will have a max slot available to sign Dwight. If they can convince Dwight to take a little less and then move, let's say Splitter, and very little money back. They might have enough to sign Howard and a guy like Batum. Howard Millsap Batum Korver Teague That's a really good starting 5 on paper.
Here I was thinking it would be great to see Coward get traded from his sweetheart destination, but in retrospect it's funnier that Houston tried to move him but couldn't because people weren't willing to give up much for him. Now he and Houston can spend the rest of the season going down in flames together.
Errr thats what I meant..... Utah and Portland knocking them out of the top 8...... its been a long day..
Aha! Well, it's a long day for me, too. What you wrote could have meant that, too. I just misread it in that other sense
I'd prefer them finishing 8th (thus relinquishing their pick to Denver) and getting blasted in embarrassing fashion by gs. that would be the most delicious option, I think. did I mention they're my least favorite basketball team by a country mile. f everything they are and stand for.
