3 mil per for the next 2 years and a starting position? Sounds like that might be the only thing that can be done here. Golden State is out. They were the only team that actually needed his skill set. Their tax bill is gonna be higher than most teams payrolls.
Would love to get Dwight back for Vet's min or not a whole lot more. That's great news about little to no interest elsewhere. My FA dream list: AD resigns for however many years KCP resigns maybe a two or three year deal depending on market value. Hopefully at around $10-12 million a year. Howard resigns for Vet's minimum Ibaka signs for MLE Matthews or another serviceable guard/wing for BAE money Boogie signs for Vet's minimum I'm on the fence about Morris. I feel like if we get Ibaka for the MLE, Morris isn't as vital a signing. If Ibaka goes elsewhere then yes, we need someone to stretch the floor at 4 and should retain him. What's your FA dream scenario (realistic though please)?
Yeah you pretty much nailed it, my only comment would be that if we can sign Dwight and Markieff for cheap then Ibaka is not as vital of a piece. We’d be bringing back our championship front court, but subtracting two of our starters on the perimeter (Bradley and Green). And so I may prefer to spend that MLE money on a 3&D wing defender. But I don’t know what high quality 3&D players will even be on the market for the MLE range, so realistically I’d be ecstatic about Ibaka.
If we have both Ibaka and Dwight, we wouldn't need Morris. Remember that McGee is on the roster. You picked up Cousins as well. That's a lot of bigs. We should be looking to maybe go after some wing defenders over Morris.
I love it - no interest in Dwight? No problem. We'll gladly take you back on a guaranteed...minimum contract.
Yeah, glad there's no market for him. Puts us in the driver seat. Other teams realize it's a unique situation that worked for him and he might not buy in as well on any playoff team. I think our only competition for him fell off when Klay got hurt. Take the min for 2 years, fully guaranteed. Call it a day.
