12-13-6-4-1 in 22 minutes - if he brings it like THAT every night, we're going to be tough to beat. REALLY tough to beat. Him and Javale have been great for us - I hope they can sustain this!
If he played like this every night, and we didn't have injuries, we'd probably go 75 and 7 with AD and Lebron doing their thing.
He can’t post those numbers every night, but he can be a double-double threat and play D with a steal and a block. I have to say I am optimistic about him right now. He has a lot left in the tank - as a role-player, of course.
Seemed like a different more versatile and valuable firmware update on Dwight. I take back the hands of stone comment on rusty Dwight 10 days ago. That passing!!! That steal and competently dribbling 3/4 of the floor for the jam. That improved FT stroke. This Dwight will wreck other teams' bench units. A lot more vertical also with must have been the rust shaken off.
We have to keep in mind he had a surgery, had to lose weight... it takes some time to get adjusted, but he seems to be in basketball shape right now. Just needs to stay healthy. Well... same thing goes for JaVale. If they can stay on the floor, they will dominate most center rotations in the league inside.
I know its early and could be him just trying to stay on the team, but I really like how he is embracing his role even in preseason without the starters. If we can get this in the regular season he is an absolute steal at the min.
Dwight's getting the rust off and better by the game, let him play. He appears to be in tremendous physical condition.
Ooooh physical was never the question with him was it though. Was sure he'd come back from the low back thing. All good and glad to see but it ain't that aspect that's under scrutiny. If we get a turned leaf on him, honestly he probably fits better with our team than Demarcus as crazy as it may sound at first. But boy if we had Boogie too, with Javale, Dwight and AD it would be the most formidable front court rotation ever. Huge spread 4s that play inside as well as defend and dominant rim protecting 5s, that clean up and score down low with a rotation that doesn't take a break. Wow that would be something to see.
The sentiment has been Dwight is lucky we are giving him another chance. This works both ways. It was a complete godsend for him to still be available when Cousins got injured. ESPN just listed his accomplishments during the game and there is no question Dwight can still play. The concern has always been that he didn't have the mental capacity to lead a team. Good thing he isn't expected to lead the team and I can see him being vital to helping us win a championship. We are very fortunate to have Javale+Dwight get paid scraps but can put up a double-double every night. These two will be 20-25 points and 20-25 rebounds for us every game and collectively, will get paid about the same as Zubac. Talk about a steal!
I thought Dwight played great, this is all we can ask of him. Dunks, screens, rebounds, work on defense, he’s doing it it. Just have to hope like hell he can keep up the worker mentality and stay healthy.
He and LBJ seemed to be enjoying each other on the bench. This team is a dream come true for Dwight. A chance for real redemption for his image and for a ring. He and McGee are unreal together and he can keep McGee healthy too by him not having to play too many minutes.
Another solid game from Dwight. I can get used to this...like someone else said...what timeline is this?
I have liked what Dwight has brought so far, but it is only preseason My concern is just spacing/fit to some degree. Would we be better off with a 5 who can stretch the floor while AD is out there too, or bullying people inside might be our best bet? Still do wish we had Boogie, ceiling would likely be higher, but his defense would likely be worse
If this is the Dwight we are getting then I don't think its possible to get the production we'll be getting at the price we're paying. He seems to be really embracing his role at this point which is something I really doubted he could do. If he keeps this up he can truly rebuild his image out here.
he fumbled several passes in the paint, but hard to be too disappointed He's keeping up the act so far ***cautiously optimistic***
