And that was after his last season with the Lakers and finished with basketball so 39-40 years old? I was thinking the same thing looking at that photo.

Yep Malone was a beast.. it's impressive what Dennis Rodman achieved defensively against Malone.. he had him extremely frustrated, not easy to do. But you always hear about MJ and those series wins, rarely does credit go to the defensive efforts from Pippen and Rodman.

And to stay on topic Dwight looks to be in shape. He was one of the most athletic people ever in his Orlando days no doubt..

it was actually 1998. super weird. my friend's brother was a HUGE wrestling fan, and we were all basketball fans, so it was like, the cross-over event of the century.

but again, the photo in this thread doesn't quite show it, but while malone looked gigantic on a basketball court; he looked sort of average next to hulk hogan. which makes sense, of course, but it was weird as someone who always watched basketball. i wonder what shaq looked like next to that giant guy, for example.

but malone was definitely huge, by any standard.

Holy crap! Is that one on the right recent or current? Had NO idea his mid section and physique in general was in that kind of condition. He just looks so huge in dress coats and such.

That's really impressive considering how easily it could have gone the other way with his huge size. See Barkley. I just had no idea. Reminds me a lot of me at my chiseled weight.

wouldn't have minded bringing him back in a limited role off the bench

retirement makes sense though. he's HOF bound and has nothing left to prove

Kurt told him what was up. I like that Kurt guy. So many hidden benefits behind the scenes.

:D I actually enjoyed him being down the Cavs. I was tired of the LeBron hype at that time. It also made for a relatively easy Finals for us, always nice to win in 5.
