Live look at DS Couldn't happen to a more deserving, foolish prick. I'd love it if he had to take a vet min somewhere. I don't think it'll come to Drummond levels. But I do think the tax payers MLE is a very real possibility. From $25m, down to not even $6m. HA HA!
I feel bad that this makes me so happy lol. The guy was a idiot and high maintenance. He came in with a bad attitude of, I’m a starter and I’m not coming off the bench. Then when we gave him a great offer sheet, he thought he was worth much more. He missed a great opportunity to showcase his talents when AD and Bron missed so much time due to injuries but he never really stepped up. The only thing that I’m sad about is we can lose an asset for nothing. If he leaves for nothing, the only asset that we have left to trade will be THT. Of course we have Bron and the guys but we aren’t trading them.
How do they get rid of Westbrook, then? They would have to eat that contract from the only team crazy enough to absorb WB... which was us
but thats unlikely if the story bout kcp being wash main target and was has Dinwiddie already they're not paying DS 20M+ to be a backup
who's more likely to want to kill the deal over DS tho? im sure wash would call our bluff if we tried to replace kcp with a ds snt
S&T? I was talking about the situation where he signed the extension in mid-season. Washington wants out of that WB contract, they would have eaten a 21M Dennis contract, it's more palatable for a non play off team
Washington was quoted from sources saying they had no interest in Dennis... https://bleacherreport.com/articles...s-dont-want-lakers-fa-in-sign-and-trade-talks "ESPN's Zach Lowe reported Saturday the Washington Wizards, who sent Russell Westbrook to L.A. in a blockbuster trade earlier in the week, and the Sacramento Kings, who have a Lakers target in Buddy Hield, both "don't want" Schroder, and many of the teams seeking a point guard can sign him directly from the open market without sending Los Angeles an asset in return." Doesn't matter if he signed that extension mid season or what the current situation is. Honestly 4 years of that contract is even worse/less desirable and thankfully for us he didn't sign it because the team Pelinka has fielded now is much better on paper then one with DS on the squad. I mean proof is kind of in the initial surge of free agency, he still isn't signed and the teams that have cap room available aren't going to spend 20+ million a year on him. I see him having to settle for the MLE somewhere or even a slight chance at a sign and trade for more money because his options are limited at this point. Bad year to be DS in free agency lol
We will have a hard time with a S&T if we have to get "salary back". The Lakers would have the highest luxery tax bill in history I believe of over $100 Mio. I don't see that happening. Best chance would be to avoid getting big salary in return but then again, those teams can sign Schröder without a S&T because they would need salary cap, unless they have "trade exceptions".
