Some of you are to emotional about Schroder. Yes, he was really bad last game, but he has done some nice things this season. Looking at his contract compared to his play doesn't matter at this point for the playoffs. He is are only play maker besides the big 2. Lebron didn't look the same with his injury, he isn't free willing it to the hole like we have seen him before, it seems he is managing himself. Schroder is the other option besides AD who can break down a defense. He is going to get the green light more until Lebron is able to be healthier if he can.

    Break down a defense?

Dude can't hit anything outside of a layup.

I don't necessarily agree that he's our only playmaker outside of Lebron. I think both THT and AC are ok at play making for the minutes Lebron are out. Granted, Schroder is better than those 2, but the talent gap is not as wide as it was thought. There are only a handful of PGs in the league who are paid more than 21 million a year and they've all been an all-star at least once, if not multiple times, won a championship, and/or made an all nba team.

There is only 1 exception to all this and it's Jamal Murray. Is Dennis and his agent saying he's at Jamal Murray's level?

yeah, we'd miss him. but only a little, imo. and mostly if our primary guys (AC, wes, THT, kcp) got hurt.

    make me look dumb, schroder.

Actually, he cant really make layups either. However, I think Schroder made his bed when he turned down 21 million per, now there is a lot of SHOW ME responses and he should receive them. If he thinks he is a 30 mil per player, well, you can't play like doo-doo like he did in the Play in game.

He’s not been the same player since out 2 weeks. The rest of the season your take is just wrong . Gave you his stats for the year and we’ve all seen him shoot decently mid range and hit some big 3s, with 33% success. Not great but also not inept as you keep claiming, now 5 times.

He can break down a defense and make plays for sure. Unfortunately half the time they end in a missed layup/short jumper or turnover because he’s so bad at passing. He can get by other guys and he does “playmake”, but his vision is really bad, and he makes the laziest looking weak passes that are so telegraphed and basic they often get disrupted or flat out stolen.

It's pretty amazing how much better THT's court vision and passing is at the age of 20 in this regard, than Schroder 7 years in, or however long. For a guy who thinks he deserves elite PG money.

He has proven to have a mid range jumper, take you to the hole, hit the 3, he will get his legs back. He is actually one of the most versatile scorers on the team besides Lebron and AD

We saw how terrible the play making was when Lebron and Schroder were out this season, the Lakers couldn't generate anything on offense. THT has the potential, but he's not there yet, until proven otherwise, he needs to work on his long distance shooting. Caruso is a good passer, he is a 3 D guy, taking advantage of double teams , he is a weak side effective player.

Before his protocal, Schroder wasn't turning the ball over much, coaches made an emphasis to lower the turnovers and he did, he has been their best offensive player since Lebron and AD missed a crap load of games. The other players are tailored around for Lebron, THT is the one who could create, but he is young and unproven @ the big time.

You make some good points, Schröder really isn’t as bad as he’s looked since returning, but I’m incredibly frustrated with his play right now. He needs to go back to playing within his limits like he was in the stretch you mentioned where he had cut the turnovers down to a huge degree. He’s got to stop with the lazy passes, the overly fancy passes, the playoffs are a different animal.

He really messed himself up basketball wise by not taking what was asked of him (to protect himself) seriously. Hasn't been the same player. I notice it most in his speed on defense. Guys would accelerate to blow by him and somehow he seemed to smoothly "glide" to stay in front of them most of the time. Same thing with himself "blowing by" guys. Not so much now. He's just slower.

I wouldn't even re-sign him if I were the Lakers even if we do win the chip. He doesn't fit this team.

-Useless off-ball because he doesn't shoot the ball well.
-Defense is starting to get overrated. Players blow past him like a turnstile.
-Makes a mistake and just lays on the floor making a snow angel.
-Wants to get paid like a 1st option player but gets visibly outplayed by Alex Caruso.

Give me Lonzo Ball any day over this guy. Schroder is worth $14 million and would only get big minutes for a lottery team. Any team paying him more than that clearly doesn't care about winning.

He was OK tonight. He was aggressive but remains a low IQ player.

I'd rather have Caruso out there these days when it counts.

Lonzo Ball? Lonzo Ball, the guy who shoots under 50% from the line and 40% from the field, and is a guard? In an era of scoring guards and 3's? No.

In the end, he scored more than it seemed. Gets sort of a pass from me today. Like this:
