i think vanvleet's contract will work against schroder's agent, tbh. imagine if you had spend 20 per on fvv as a lotto team in search of a starting pg last summer.
Hmm. Re: that last line, yeah I believe the Lakers could replace Schroder not in terms of what he brings to the table (super speed and mid range scoring), but simply the position. Caruso could start and THT could come off the bench at PG. Right now the Lakers would seem to have the upper hand in terms of bargaining position. Dennis sees how good he could have it here and loves the organization thus far and probably the winning as well. I mean, if we do end up signing him to a somewhat friendly deal like 4 years for 60-65, or 3 years at 55 then I think it's a total win-win. If he's insistent on getting close to 20 million per I think we need to cut him loose. I feel like that's just too much cheddar to invest given the continued excellence of Caruso and the emergence of THT. Dennis is a cool player but he is still looking best as an explosive bench player which is not what he signed up for here unfortunately.
Dennis needs to be more agressive , especially when he has a switch to attack , ... instead of always looking for Bron ( who gives him the ball back to attack in many occasions)
32% from three ain't gonna get it done... But of course, Lakers tax = automatic 5% deduction in 3P% as soon as you wear a Lakers uniform....
No, that's not a good percentage, but I really think he can be a major contributor for us with his speed and scoring ability in general.
Was a bit shaky against defensive pressure to end the game. Rubio is a good defender but Dennis is going to have to get better at this as in the playoffs people are going to come after you. Can't always depend on Lebron to steady every offensive possession down the stretch. Rondo for example was able to initiate and create buckets in the playoffs which was key
Pretty awesome game from Dennis for the most part. I’m always surprised how quick he gets in good defensive positions up into opponents and seems to disrupt and bother guys much bigger than him. Great shooting in 1st half and his speed is just so great to see finally on the Lakers. It’s always been the other teams that have these kinds of point guards.
Sucked big donkey balls not having him tonight. No playmaking outside of Lebron made the Nets defense actually look decent
Vogel was looking forward to that matchup too, between DS and Kyrie. Talked about it pregame. DS was scratched an hour before the game! No one is sure when he will return.
Not sure what this means, but it could be contract negotiations are going well. https://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/new-lakers-star-dennis-schroder-buys-la-estate
Tarzana? You'd think these guys would buy closer to Staples and the practice facility and LAX. That's a crappy commute with typical traffic. More money for same type house or less house for similar money. Save himself 2 hours a day give or take.
Then again .... reading about that house it’s pretty damn spectacular including a full size basketball court and 10 seat home theater, pool and lots of other tasty things. Get himself some big dogs and a dog / house sitter for when he’s on the road so it doesn’t get robbed.
I guess I was mistaken. Looks like we do need Schroder's scoring and abilities possibly even more than Caruso's and THT's. Our offense is just horrendous without him. It's beyond terrible.
Yeah was thinking the same thing last few games. That speed and playmaking and blowing by guys to get to the basket with sneaky layups adds a whole other dimension to our offense PLUS we miss his stay in front of guys Avery Bradley like valuable defense.
He is super valuable to the team. It's pretty obvious now. Without him and with Bron on the bench it's a bunch of headless chicken running around trying to score... Poor Alex, trying to make plays for others... that's just not going to work, unfortunately. Basically: Sign Schroeder ASAP. When is he coming back, BTW?
