If AD had shown up, Lakers would have won. Not very happy with that. Lebron needs to be managed, I get that. But that game should have been a tone setter for the season from AD.
makes sense. lakers said we'll keep you at current salary, schroder said let's see how i do. i think an extension makes sense for both sides, tbh.
Really solid so far. My only criticism is he needs to cut back on lazy TO's. Needs to make sure he protects the ball and gets a decent possession as this team where it plans to go, will need all these back
He's a serious threat in the pick and roll. There was at least 2 plays I can remember Harrell faked setting a screen and that opened up the middle for a layup. Good stuff
Very interesting... Should we? I don't think this guy thinks before he speaks lol his agent is going to get mad EDIT
Guess that’s why he’s starting! You know what? Good for him and it’s great that both sides are into extension talks already.
It seems weird to me that the Lakers are so caught up in extensions when Rob always likes options. I like Schroder's game but I think an extension is way too early, still. It's leading me to believe that the Lakers are going to try and extend these players so they can have the option to trade them if a star player wants to leave their team. Rob has got to know Bron isn't getting any younger and that extending two unproven players for the system like Kuzma and Schroder is very risky. On to Schroder's game, he is doing what many of us expected. Meanwhile, Danny Green is in peak form. 18 minutes, 2 points, 1/6 from the field, 0/4 threes. And the best part is THT could probably have replaced Danny Green eventually so we're not losing anything from that trade.
To me it seems this year's FA class completely evaporated (no Giannis, PG, Lebron, AD, etc.). Part of Rob's thinking why risk getting outbid on someone you want to keep and would be hard to acquire otherwise with the limited assets the Lakers have? I also agree with you that if both Schroeder and Kuzma are on fair deals, they'll be easy to move (in their prime players signed for awhile)
Yeah, Kuzma and Schroder can be re-signed for very friendly deals that puts the Lakers in a great position to trade them. My line of thinking is if a disgruntled NBA superstar on a bad team starts demanding a trade, Kuzma+Schroder+THT would be a very nice package. Obviously you'd only trade them if it was for a top 20 type of player but I think with THT's potential, Kuzma being an 18 PPG scorer, and Schroder being your lead PG can really help a team. I mean, you never know. If Wizards still end up sucking, a Beal for THT+Kuzma+Schroder+2 picks would be a nice start for them.
What matters is how you recover and adjust and Vogel has proven to be a savant at that. I really don't care about a single loss against anyone with this team (especially one that has had 98 days to plan for this and needs it emotionally a whole lot more than us) because that sort of has been the operating basis of this team. Frank is a great playoff coach. Remember the playoffs: 1st game losses to POR and DEN followed by gentleman's sweeps. Credit to Splo (who imo is among the top 3 coaches) and Miami for winning their 2 in the middle of the series. Not gonna make excuses, they were a damn good team as shown vs the Bucks and Celts. Fact is, we were already recovering in the Clips game and they went crazy in the 1st and 3rd, Pauline had an asplosion and we did not play Lakerball D, period. I don't think the take away from the first game was so much: figure out the Clips (which is easier in a series) as much as figure out US. Promising restart vs Dallas who got man-handled And to be relevant to the thread, gosh, Schröder ist gut!
Very good game yesterday - I think we're finding out what works best for him and what doesn't; yesterday, he was solid.
He will only get better as he gels with the team. He's still guessing out there, but his production is amazing, frankly. He's a better facilitator than I expected.
So there were talks yesterday for his extension https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...egin-contract-extension-talks-dennis-schroder
Funny but I like the skunk type stripe on his head now better than any of the bird poop type spots I’ve seen. Am down with it. And him being quick on D laterally and staying in front of his man reminds me a lot of Avery Bradley. Dude is really chiseled for those 175lbs.
