I'll miss Dennis. Very good teammate. https://www.si.com/nba/lakers/news/...ole-player-had-big-impact-on-teammates-ml0802
it will be interesting to watch. schroder did a lot of great things for us, but i really didn't trust him at the end of games, just some very poor decisions on offense on many occasions that i recall. we'll see if vincent does better in that regard. he did sacrifice some scrappy POA defense. both guys seem well-liked by teammates, so that's good. anyway, it's possible we regret not just giving DS the MLE, but the front office was pretty quick and decisive on it, so they felt like they knew something.
Definitely gonna miss the point of attack defense with Schroder gone but I will not be missing the decision making, especially down the stretch.
Lulls Brooks to sleep with chit chat, then takes off like a bottle rocket on the inbounds for the two. Priceless!
Congrats to Dennis. Really wish the Lakers could have kept him. Gelled with the team and was a baller last year and did get great in the world cup
ah, he coached him in okc. does this mean we offered schroder the mle and he chose toronto's? that's not how i read the situation at the time.
he wants to be THE PG. And handle the ball like he does in intl play. Never going to happen on the Lakers
fair point. it hasn't proven to be very effective in the nba, though. anyway, i'd feel better if we had offered him the same deal toronto did, and he turned it down for theirs than if we just signed vincent without consulting him.
I think that's why he admitted to coach hunting. He wanted to find a coach that could showcase him the way he can be used best in his mind. It may not have mattered what we offered if he is happier playing a role like he just did as a world champion for Germany.
