Lakers should apply for DPE and go after Joakim Noah, he played well last year, was injury free and got into shape. Also he's a great playmaker.

Then with the last roster spot go after Kenneth Faried

alright, I hope your right. I took those time tables from memory of players that have had that injury. Porzingus suffered a torn ACL and surely didn't make it back in a year. Same with Derrick Rose.

Longer recovery times depend on the severity/grade of tear. Surgical intervention isn't always what's recommended right away. If the tear isn't significant, it can self resolve with prescription treatment and rest.

However, if during that time no noticeable recovery takes place or a setback occurs, then surgery takes place and from that point on, the pt is on a more conventional timeline.

If Boogz is recommended for surgery straight away, then 6-9 months is the timeline and of course the more conservative window should be used where he could come back during the latter stages of the the playoffs.

If it were a guard with little injury history, I’d say 7-9 months is possible with medical advances. But with Boogie, I’m with you. He won’t be playing this year and if he does, he probably gets hurt again.

Damn. Feel bad for the guy. Definitely sucks. Was working hard, dropped weight, woulda been a beast for us with something to prove, trying to get that big contract. Now, he'll probably never suit up for us and never get a big contract anywhere.

Hopefully we can get an injured player exemption. Going to need a body who can handle some heavy minutes. McGee locked up that starting gig.

    Available: Zaza, Gortat, Nene, Noah

Stick a fork in him. There goes our championship shot.
Will be even better if AD bolts after the season.

I'd prefer Noah at this point over all the available bigs. Made a good impression last year in MEM the last few months of the year.

Ugh. So bummed to hear this news. A healthy Boogie would have dominated the west this year. This is a drag to say the least. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for the guy, such a shame. Heal up big fella.

So assuming we sign a replacement center, will we have to either use the final roster spot or cut Boogie?

Or if we apply for the disabled player exception, can we keep Boogie on the roster, sign his replacement, and then still have the 15th spot open? If that is how the DPE works in the sense that it gives an extra roster spot, would we have to actually use the money from the DPE in filling that extra spot? Because the 1.75M from that exception would be less than the minimum for most players.

I hate to bring it up, but the guy in the crybaby emoji in your post is available, and a year removed from averaging 17 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 blocks...

Will do. Anyways, we're not getting a trophy with McGee and a scrub at the C.
