really thought playing with luka and lebron would motivate him to finally find that next gear, but nope. he's been the same player he's always been no motor, no urgency, zero IQ, zero effort. he got his money from the suns and called it a day
Sad too. Bobby Portis always has that look like he heard someone say something derogatory to him but can’t figure out who it came from.
There just isn't a better alternative in the offseason, and he's repped by the same agency as Luka. It presents a slight problem. They only positive: maybe we get him at a discount this summer and can use his salary in a trade in the future.
I don’t mind bringing him back at a low rate but he’s just not going to be the player he could be with his talent.
at this rate, he'll have to opt in. this is fine by me; he's well worth that money and isn't our biggest problem, which continues to be speed on the perimeter.
more than worth a shot--he was our only shot. brook lopez and clint capela went for more money than he did. nic claxton wasn't even really available. we just had zero options. we're lucky koloko wasn't our full-time backup center.
Flirted with a 20/20. That's what is frustrating. Capability vs reliability. Keep it up big fella. Easiest way i can tell if he's engaged is the number of those tap around rebounds he gets. He's taller and longer than a lot of his opponents so even if he doesn't secure it, if he's pinballing it between his two hands on one he can't outright secure, effort level will be there for the game.
oh wow. portland will REALLY have to take us lightly. though maybe i get to see some lebron at center lineups?
