Yep. Needed to throw big body back into him. Wembys arms were shadowing over him, if he would've done that and then gone up through the contact hunting the foul and not the bucket it would've been a foul. He's going through these Cs like it's a hit list Great instincts on this one
Well not to make excuses for him but I do give him a bit of a pass for playing under a coach who’s in the pocket of the mob and fixing games (allegedly). I think we’ve just got the right group of guys for him. The Suns are another organization with problems though I was a Monty fan. I think since Monty is known as a players coach and just a good man on and off the court, Ayton not getting along with him was a bad look. He left there and went to a dumpster fire in Portland. The difference now is that he knows this is likely his last opportunity to really show what he can do. He’s got strong personalities to keep him on track and seems to have really bought in to being a Laker. He’s handling the bright lights of LA way better than a lot of guys have. The chemistry of this team is through the roof and he’s buying in big time. Hes just flat out making the most of his third chance.
With Luka, AR and LeBron when he comes back, if Ayton just holds his own we will win most of the time and he is doing much more than that.
Like Austin Reaves …. another beautiful “bird in hand” situation to take care of “keeping here” when it comes to highly impactful players who WANT to be Lakers and can handle their brightest of lights stage. He understands L A. Deandre was nervous against the Spurs because he didn’t want to disappoint in front of the Dodgers who were in attendance, and the fans there vibing for them being there and for the Lakers. https://lakersnation.com/lakers-new...pressure-with-dodgers-in-attendance-vs-spurs/
wemby's already like AD was with us: people don't even try unless they're sure he can't get there, lol. in the first game of the year, flagg made a nice move that would have led to a little floater, saw wemby, and just turned around and dribbled back out. and it was the right choice.
Decent game, but he gets too cute around the rim(Vlade style) when he needs to go up strong and jam it.
So refreshing to have a big in the middle that can alter shots and score With Hayes backing him up we may have a chance to go far in the playoffs
When I started out in my career, I only knew how to do a few things well too, but as I went along, I leveled up and expanded my toolkit. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the same thing out of professional athletes.
Except you’re speaking for them physically as per what You determine they should be doing. Your career isn’t dependent on your particular style and capabilities physically.
Another strong game 20 pts 16 rebounds. Great midrange and work down low and good defense. Just consistently good game to game.
