He was still the guy that went to the gym, took pictures and left afterwards, but was so talented he held his job. Big fan but he was lazy and never took his career seriously

Not sure I understand the disappointment with this trade. It seems like a bases clearing triple to me, if not a home run. Still have all three FRPs, add a true 3&D SF, and a guard that can do most of what DLo was giving us. Yes we still need a center, but I have no complaint about this move.

I honestly think JJ wanted him to succeed but frankly amazing in a contract year Dlo just was same old Dlo. In the Kings game he lost the ball after passing mid court with a lazy dribble, clanked wide open 3s. Honestly Lakers found him a role where he should be an to shine and he just didn't take it

I just feel sad because he's a guy who is fun to watch but never cared enough to really improve.

Tinkerbell is heading back to Brooklyn, perhaps he can salvage his career in the place, where he made his only All-Star team. His second time around here, had a few flashes, but once again he finds himself, heading out from a team ,that had gotten sick of his act. That guy still has some talent, but he needs to get his head right, or a MLE signing is his ceiling, from here on out. Good luck to him.

    On another note...
I'm pretty sure that Max,Gabe and Vando, are probably a bit nervous about what Rob's next move, is going to be.

Was always rooting for DLO to be that consistent player. The deal is pretty good, considering our needs.
We can always purchase seconds this summer.
Still need a real big- Kokomo ain’t it.

See ya DLO. It was a roller coaster of ups and downs. Really enjoyed the heaters and hated when he'd go m.i.a.

It was clearly time for us to part ways with the enigmatic D-Lo, whose style I loved but...he was just too mercurial.

I hope he fills up the stat-sheets in the lower-pressures of the Nets and their requirements. I want him to be more demanding of himself. He got wealth as an NBA player of considerable skills, but hey, D-Lo? It will all be over soon, and you want to look back and say you really did leave it all out on the court.

With us, he left some on the court, not enough, and he left a lot in places other than the court.

I suspect that was a problem all along: Lakers are a hot kitchen. If you can't stand the heat, etc.

This looks like a very good trade to me, but we'll see. Some guys get traded here and their game goes south. Heat/kitchen.

i just don't think he really thinks like this, and that's been his career-long problem. he likes playing basketball, but winning and being part of something great is just not that motivating for him.

i expect d-lo to ball out in brooklyn like he did his first stint there, especially given there's no more pressure to perform. but will he be able to fool a team into giving him a big contract next season?

He's likely to get a buyout and sign for a contender.
Miami or Bucks could use him. Minny, Sac or the Clips too. Sign a vet min and try to get a contract next year

I wish him well. He wasn't what we needed him to be WHEN we needed it. I think he's going to have some tough years ahead, we'll see

Yea, I'm being pretentious in writing here, "D'Angelo, here's where your mindset should be." As if he reads this site.

And I meant what I wrote in the sense that yea, you're right: obviously he just doesn't see his horizon that way. It's sad to see someone that talented who can't seem to see what he really has and take it super-seriously. Partly because a lot of us fantasize about having NBA-level skills. WE certainly wouldn't take it for granted!

Certainly all players are paid exorbitantly to have a "winning" mindset 100% of the time. But we've all seen guys like D-Lo.

I wish him well, just not against the Lakers, etc.

I am stoked over us getting DFS!

I always thought Shake was solid. If sometimes he needs to be stirred. My perception is he's a team guy, serious, and doesn't think he's the straw that stirs the shake and I will fight myself with the "shake" puns from here on out. Wish me luck?...Ever hear about the undergrad who took an English class and became obsessed over Paradise Lost? He couldn't seem to shake Milton. I'll stop now.

I always felt like he cared more about his hair than improving as a player.

that being said, he’s the all-time record holder for threes in a season by a Laker, and was an obvious talent. He was fun to watch when he got hot.

The inexplicable lazy passes, and the lack of defense was a real issue. JJ tried to hide those weaknesses on the bench, but that proved to be a difficult adjustment for him. The team was left feeling like they could do better and risked getting nothing in return for him if they let him expire, so they made their move.

Since his replacement has a player option for next year, and the other player has been on something like 7 teams is 5 years, I think it’s safe to say we didn’t really get much in return for him that can be considered a long-term asset. Hard to completely agree with the addition by subtraction crowd, but playoff performance stuff has been a real issue.

Good luck DLO. Sounds like NJ may be glad to have him back. I’m not excited about losing three second round picks.

I know zero about the players we have acquired.

We’re definitely going to miss those games where he could get hot from three or was just dropping effortless assists all over the place, or even swinging the ball to the right players for hockey assists. It was time to move on though, he was the biggest expiring contract we had. I wish him well, he’ll most likely look good with a green light on a bad team.

We've barely had him back talking basketball again compared to his Raider love :SadPau2: so does this mean we've lost @trodgers again?
