I'll eat that crow lol. I haven't watched any of their games. Not sure if they are using him as a stretch 4 or a low block guy, but he definitely hasn't adjusted well so far.

i was heavily anti-kaminsky and got crazy flak for it, but i can't remember from whom. i thought he was a mid-first rounder, while others thought that if the lakers had the fifth pick, they should take him.

but i was pro-okafor (vs. russell), and that may end up being wrong (happily). i also wasn't sure why everyone thought towns was the easy choice at #1, but he most certainly was, it appears.

My only fear for Towns was his legs (I still don't like the way he moves) but the talent is certainly there. He's all the good things of Joakim Noah plus being able to score on his own (people forget Noah has shown great passing ability as well).

Unfortunately I believe that'll also hold true with his knees unless he bulks up his bottom half significantly this summer. Mechanically he's still Bambi at times.

    nice face-saver for Byron.

sucks that Clarkson's out. you need all the creators you can get against SA. just to avoid losing by 40.

As seen on Rotoworld (ultimately from LA Daily News):

D'Angelo Russell admitted that he isn't getting feedback from head coach Byron Scott regarding his development.

That's just terrible coaching. Communication should be a given in any field of work, let alone a coach of a professional basketball team.

I'm not a fan of Scott, but please remember this: the tank is in.

Scott isn't a good coach, but no one is this bad. I'm sure he's received his marching orders and a top 3 pick is Jimmy Boy's goal for this season.

 You guys made a Russell bet before we drafted him? You expected to follow this even if he were on another team? That's crazy.

All your takes on Towns, Okafor, Mudiay, Johnson, Winslow, and Russell are very interesting. It's cool to look back on so much later, and man I'm glad I didn't make any bold predictions because I wanted Okafor and knew very little about Russell or Towns.

Great game from Russ tonight. 9/23, but really didn't take he took many bad shots. Some makeable that just didn't go down. Without Clarkson and Randle not really involved in the game we just didn't have enough offense. Loved the continued aggression of Russell though.

I think tonight basically showed there's no point in benching Russell. When Kobe plays a controlled game and you actually give the kid the ball to run the offense he will perform well.

The problem is there looks to be no competent offensive system at all right now. No one knows when and where they're gonna get their shots. Russell included to a degree. Any time we put him in a pick and roll situation, good things most likely will happen.

24, 6 and 6 in 36? Are you kidding me? The kid is playing. Great first half. Second half got away from all of them so I don't blame Russell for falling off a bit there. D'Lo is really doing well. That lack of communication, i.e. coaching from Byron is just so disturbing. He has to go. I can't take another year of crap coaching. It's been so long now since we've had a good coach I hardly remember what it's like.

Yeah I was screaming my head off at the game when Byron put Kelly in. We had cut the lead to 12 or 13 and he basically waved the white flag. Kelly shouldn't see the floor unless it's garbage time. Even then rather see Randle out there. Free Tarik Black. This is ridiculous. Sacre isn't an NBA player. I cringe when he has the ball. Then playing Huertas with D'Angelo is just ridiculous since both are point guards and neither are real adept at playing without the ball. Play him with Clarkson or Williams at all times.

Byron is just awful. I don't know what to say. I thought Brown and D' Antoni's rotations were terrible, but B. Scott is in a league of suckitude all his own. It's a new level of terrible.

These things are always obscure and arbitrary but someone threw out a stat about NBA teenagers who had 22-5-5:
    1)Melo
    2)KD
    3)Kyrie
    4)Lebron
    5)D'angelo

    That's a pretty nice list.
