Disagree on the not setting good screens! He does those very well already.

Colin is strong and sets great, solid screens. It isn't pointless because you need time on the court to prove yourself. If you honestly think he isn't better than Huff then you haven't been watching. Colin is working on his shot, which is coming along and he can rebound and start the break off the dribble if a pass isn't there. He can do a lot of the things we need, but yes, he needs playing time to develop.

He has playing time in the g-league. We are paying big bucks to AD, Bron and the others. We can't afford to "give time to youngsters". We ain't the Hornets. Every win matter to get into top 6. That's the goal. They have to prove they're good enough or they can't see the court.
    Castleton isn't good enough

We have 3 guaranteed roster guys + Castleton at the Summer League and we are awful. That should tell you something.

What are you talking about??...lol. We can't afford not to develop our youngsters. We are paying big bucks to LeBron and AD and have good young talent to round out our roster and fill needs. But, they have to be developed which includes playing time. If you want players NBA ready, they need NBA playing time. You can win games and develop players at the same time. It isn't that hard.

You have to admit he sucks so far at rebounding. Seems to have no fire to go after the ball even if in the immediate area just because an opponent is screening him out well or even not so well. And other bigs do score on him. Rebounding and defense are where he’s GOT to get better …. needs to step up those efforts. Liking what I see on offense though.

He has sucked at a few things but he is good enough to warrant developing. Especially with our shortage of quality bigs. You give him some playing time with limited responsibilities and firm assignments. One of those being crash the glass if you expect more time. He will pick up some fouls and start getting more boards, get more aggressive, as he improves up expectations. He has some really good positives. The problem is our coaches have set our young guys up to fail. They don't train them properly, don't give them time on the court, then someone gets hurt or in foul trouble and they are expected to come in and save the day. Not how it works. Our coaches the past few seasons are destroying young guys confidence. There is some pain in the process, just have to smile and high five them through it. All part of the joys of coaching...lol.

There's not a single team in the NBA developing youngsters and winning. Warriors tried it and failed miserably. I'm not saying not to play youngsters, but they have to play as well as the older alternative. If you afford mistakes for growth, you'll win less

I don't care about age, it's all about performance. If Castleton can't dominate Bolden, how he's gonna play against Joker, Embiid or Bam?

I’m a fan of Colin’s, but I feel like he’s missing the “fire.” He seems too passive. He doesn’t seem to try and impose his will on either end. I don’t know- maybe he’s just too worried about missing too many shots our getting labeled “foul prone?” I will remain patient though, because I think he needs this year of G-League reps to improve. Hopefully, all this talk of “development” will bring in multiple coaches to work with the guys- preferably a big mentor and one for the guards and wings.

Not a huge fan of Castleton. Not strong, and his one asset of handling the ball means nothing if you can’t finish at the rim. Getting his shot blocked repeatedly in summer league games is a bad, bad sign.

Colin has looked awful out there. There's no real way to sugar coat that.

No place to go but up though I guess. I don't see it though.
