The more footage of Colin I watch the more impressive he is. The guy is so smooth handling the ball for a big guy. His passes even while on the move are right where they should be. Pairing him with AD would be perfect. Two guys right at seven feet tall that can handle the ball and move like that. The way Colin sets screens and holds them. This would really be a good pairing when Lebron is taking a break and we have three shooters on the court. It doesn't really matter if he isn't a great three-point shooter yet. I can't find enough evidence one way or the other about that. He can always develop three-point shooting but for now he will be setting screens, cutting keep the offense moving. Good enough mid-range shooter to keeps teams honest. AD and Colin both team first guys. Colin plays defense but learning from the best defender in the league he will just get that much better. I hope we don't screw this up with some minimum vet guy. In a couple seasons Austin, Max and Colin will all be playing all-star level ball. Austin is already there. I don't really care if they ever make an all-star game as long as their play is there. We hit the Motherlode with these guys.
this is my feeling about the much-maligned vando, too--you can be an effective offensive player if you're just active, set screens, and understand the schemes and goals.
Absolutely, it is up to the coach to use the guy right. We are just loaded with talent. With an entire regular season to figure this out Vando is going to be huge for us. Ham did a lot of good things but I'm hoping he is spending much of the off-season scrutinizing the things he did wrong. I want the defense first, holding players and coaches accountable that he talked about when first hired. Going to be a pretty exciting season. I also think we get an inspired AD. Since he is a defense first guy, he will like being surrounded by all these young guys that take defense seriously.
AD will probably be MVP this year. Sorry, we're in the whitecastle thread. Hope the kid gets some burn. I see him being a solid piece for the future.
Start the man. Let AD play where he wants to be. A happy AD is a more inspired AD. Management has been butt kissing Lebron for however many seasons now might as well give AD the treatment as well...lol.
Give the young guy some minutes and see if he grows chemistry with the team Showed some skills in summer ball
Hey Colin … the Olympics USA Big Man roster is wide open! We have no one, certainly no one locked in …. that’s for sure for the obvious already discussed reasons. How much stronger and how much BETTER at everything skills wise and athleticism (by hard training) …. can you be. Terrific bag of skills to work with and 25-27 you’re just entering your prime years. Yours to grab. They’ll take 3 Bigs if they have them.
Pretty sure Ham will not have the nerve to give him a fair shot with our loaded roster but here is our five of the future, back to the front page. Perfect fit next to AD. Especially if AD is hitting outside again.
Funny I have this feeling that if he had the confidence to play balls out with the skills he has already, and work his a** off in the weight room to improve physically to wherever Ham tells him to “first” concentrate …. as well as put in gym rat hours on his “own” time on whichever skills Ham tells him to first concentrate on …. by mid season he should be able to actually really contribute against certain lineups. A lot depends on that confidence in himself to execute under pressure. AR uncommonly has it in spades. Hopefully he is in Colin’s ear a LOT pumping him up. It’s physics at a certain point in that he is simply taller and has more in his back pocket than either Hayes or Wood. Hopefully he has it between the ears too.
the midcalf socks and tshirt are just missing some short shorts for a throwback mchale vibe. though i think i'm just wishing the tshirt on mchale because as a child his armpit hair offended me.
Castleton looks like a little boy to me. Not ready to wrestle with the big leagues yet. Let's get him in the weight room and get him some G League burn to develop.
