One trade thrown around: Kyrie for Chris Paul.

    That sounds interesting.

Does CP3 want to play 2nd fiddle to Lebron? Maybe after dealing with Biff & Deandre for the past 4 1/2 years, he'd welcome the move.

But the problem is whether the Clippers recognize the need for change. They didn't last year after another 2nd round exit.

I want Clipps to stand pat, watch them fail year, after year, after year. No need for a player i like (Kyrie) to play for the tennants :(.

It was brought up as a summer move. A lot of folks kind of look at this (rightly so) as the Clippers' last hurrah. If they can't get past the 2nd Round this season, then it's time to move on. They're not going to be good enough to get it done.

The deal would hinge on Paul and Irving staying healthy until the summer though. I think it's a move that benefits both sides. You get your young, marketable star in LA and you get a proper second fiddle in Cleveland with LeBron. I still don't think they'd have enough to win, but it'd be a better team for both sides. I think Paul just wants to win a ring before his body breaks down so I think he figures it out with LeBron. They're good buddies anyway.

Pathetic on Biff's part. I hope he is out until mid-March because of this. Recovery time + a healthy suspension (5 games?). Hopefully the Grizz and Mavs can make up some ground on them with this and they'll drop from 4th.

    LOL. CP3 "NEEDS HELP."

    You've got:
A six-time all star, four time all-nba 2nd or 3rd team Power Forward.
    A one-time all-D 1st team, one time all-nba 3rd team Center.
    A two-time 6MOY winner off the bench.
==two of them in their prime, and you don't have enough help?

Not sure I'd touch that if I was Cleveland though.... Kyrie is going to be good for much longer than CP2

To me, Cleveland easily takes the trade while Clippers easily reject. Blake is turning 27 in less than 2 months. DeAndre is already 27 and turning 28. These guys are in their primes now, and they rely pretty heavily on their athletic abilities. By the time Kyrie enters his prime, will they be as good as they are now? Will Kyrie be as good as CP3 is / was? All those point to "no" for me, and as injury prone as CP3 has been with the Clippers, Kyrie has been worse. I see that team being similar to the Kings right now / just below .500 or hovering around it.

If they are planning on trading CP3, I think the Clippers should just blow it up and gather a ton of assets, in which Irving could be one of them.

Edit: It would be interesting to see if LeBron and CP3 could even "mesh" though. I just can't see CP3 giving up the primary ball-handling duties like Wade did, and even if he does, can he play as well as Wade did off the ball?

I don't like that at all. I hate CP3, but he makes Cleveland instantly better and more of a contender, because he is the killer that LeBron isn't. Irving is very good, but I keep hearing how he doesn't play D and is all about scoring.

What a jacka**. They can't be paying his salary while he's injured for punching someone, right? Not even the Clippers would be that lame.

    Nuggets in: Griffin/Stephenson

    Clippers in: Faried/Gallinari/Barton (1st?)

Bill Simmons suggested it. I agree with it. I'd do it for both sides.

I actually have less of a problem with the Clippers when they have fewer douches on the team. I enjoyed rooting for the '05/'06 Sam Cassell/Elton Brand Clippers in th playoffs against the Suns after they knocked us out. Old man Cassell was awesome. If Blake is traded, my Clipper hate goes down one notch, unless it's for a bigger douche.
