I just don't see Jordan reneging on his deal. I see this being a pathetic attempt that the media for whatever reason chooses to play the Clippers as the heroes rescuing Jordan. Jordan already made a promise to the Mavs. I don't see him backing out now.

But for Cuban? Eff him. I can't stand that guy. I don't care if he has reason to hate us, I hope this thing causes him to suffer for a bit.

Man he called his old coach to express doubts? He's a grown man, making huge decisions, but that's like acting like a child. When did these NBA big men (and a lot of stars in general) become such man-childs (man-children ?)? You make a decision, you make a commitment, you give your word, you stick to it. Don't go crying back to coach to decide for you, decide things for yourself, be professional.

Apparently the Clippers are feeling like they've got a great shot at this and the Mavs are genuinely scared.

To be fair, the Mavs SHOULD be. Their roster isn't very good without Jordan and the Clippers SHOULD be fighting this hard to keep him...

but doing it the day before the moratorium ends, behind his agent's back? Yeah. F*** you Clippers. I hope you all fail miserably at this pitch and at life.

Yep...that started this whole drama. I agree with you that a person should be of their word. There were mentions of other players who changed their minds during free agency but they were not high profile ones such as Jordan and did not involve teams that are relevant to NBA marketing.

I said knee pads in the Wes Johnson thread. That's more realistic.

:D Cold blooded! Turkeyglue was hot back in 2010 when he committed to Portland then changed his mind and went to Toronto!

Still though, when did a man's word come to mean so little?

the Clips should also bring Wesley Johnson and Boozer...ask DJ 'do you really wanna miss out on this?'

What we need is a Cuban vs. Balmer fight :D
If DJ acts like a little b****, he'll majorly screw Dallas. Hell, he might send Dirk to a retirement home...

True... He's not much of a possible impact as Jordan would be to two franchises. Clippers saw a sliver of daylight and are going full bore. If anything, this is all on Jordan. Clippers are doing what any team would do. He's dangling both organizations...

I'm not. I thought Jordan was gone. It cemented the demise of that suck *** franchise. Now looks like could all be undone. But I like Weezy's thought maybe Cuban legally coming at them for strategic moves left undone or not being able to be done. My gut says the ink wasn't dry and Jordan will cave and nothing can be done about it except hopefully no agents will want to deal with them.

    Not hopefully LT, definitely.

No agents will want to deal with the Clippers. No GMs will want to talk to them about trades. They're making enemies across the board because they believe they've got a shot at DeAndre and that he is the key to a championship.

They're wrong I think on both counts, but it's fun watching them piss off everyone in the NBA world (except the media of course).

Hell, how about this Marc? Get in DJ's face and say "Do you know who I am? " I will sue your *** for giving your commitment upon which I based other moves. Threaten DJ's weak *** just like Doc and posse are all going to sell and close it.

Wow...the potential ramifications of this. 1) no one will want anything to do with Doc or the clippers. This is as big of an unwritten rule as there is in the NBA. And here I was thinking it looked bad that we met with LMA a second time. Thank you Clippers for taking the low road and looking like the most desperate, pathetic organization in basketball right now. Move on to JaVale and Josh, save what face you can.

    2) no one will want anything to do with DJ (if he ever leaves LAC/DAL) or his agent. Backing out of a deal like this, leaving your new team in an awful spot. What value does your word have after that. It's not his agent's fault if they bypass him, but he'll take a credibility hit if he doesn't intervene. He has a lot more relationships he needs to maintain than DJ does.

    3) as a Laker fan, I don't like Cuban. If I wasn't a Laker fan, I'd have no problem with him. He's great to his players, is a commanding presence, and gave Stern fits for years. Either way, this isn't fair to the Mavs and I'd rather see Dirk benefit from DJ than see CP3, PP, Doc, and Biff stay relevant. If this happens, I can't wait to see the hell storm Cuban will unleash upon the Clippers, because he won't let this go away quietly. Hell, he might gift us players just to f*** with our hallway rivalry. I know he'll never deal with them again.

Cuban and Parsons need to lock this down. CP3 and Doc are just going to tell him whatever he wants to hear until he signs then it'll go back to how things were. If DJ was smart, he'd realize which team wanted him and which team didn't know he wanted the ball and who's leader was vacationing with Bron, Melo, and Wade.
