Idk...It was the same with Vanderbilt less than a month ago. I guess this means that Wood will be available in February.
Bumping this thread out of hopeful desperation. Wood did play with Luka one season in Dallas. C'mon big fella.
Dec. 17th he’s advanced to on court work with staff. On Jan. 21st, there’s no update. We are now in February and no word. WTH is going on with this guy? We could use him if he can push the top of that coffin open and climb out.
He had some of his best games with Luka. He's probably eager to come back now, especially because he'd actually get minutes with no AD. But maybe this recovery takes a while.
Here is your update: “With Christian, he continues to progress. We don’t have necessarily a set date for his return to play with us, but the progress has been good. He’s doing more on the court with obviously just individual work. His AlterG stuff, he’s getting to 95%, 100% on the AlterG. So again, he’s making progress and it’s looking like it’ll be back soon barring any setback that he’s be back with us.”
Can we get a disabled player exception for him or Kleber to sign someone for the rest of the season? Literally no 2-way players we have right now can even play in the playoffs, we have Hayes and no one else.
yeah, good question--i feel like we should get something. we lost a roster spot in this rescinded trade, too. that part is some b*******.
I suspect that Wood will be cleared to play after the All-Star break. Meniscus tears aren't career threatening, I don't think I've ever heard of one, being an entire season ending injury either.
no, but he may have larger structural issues in the knee they aren't talking about. plus, some meniscus tears don't heal without surgery, which in turn makes recovery longer and more difficult. i'm sure wood is trying like hell to avoid that going into a contract year, and i wonder if doctors said it was the best option a while back...
