There's no way Jerry West would allow trading Thompson. He was adamantly against it before and threatened to quit if the Warriors had traded Thompson for Love.
http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=18068799&sf42665740=1 "I don't give a damn about no Drake night." The look he gave after getting bumped looked real. I don't know the back story if they're friends or not, but that looked real. His comment at the end didn't.
Like I said before the season, yes, the Cavs. The Cavs do not fear them, and LeBron is Durant's kryptonite, he's the Yankees to Pedro Martinez. It's anyone's series between those teams.
I think the biggest kryptonite to them is Kyrie. He is probably the clutchest player in the game right now, they took out Curry at the end because they were scared Kyrie was going to abuse him yet again! I think the depth/bench of the Warriors is deteriorating, Igoudala doesn't look the same anymore. Somebody's shook!: https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1....=b8a257562d8a33b44e68d68928dcc66e&oe=58E6E13E
Warriors are top heavy this year with a big drop off of talent/usefulness. Livingston and Iggy are a year older. No interior presence. They will beat always beat the bad teams and middle of the pack teams, but teams that can come close talent wise will give them issues.
Worst part is I don't even care anymore because I'm no longer rooting for this Warriors team with Durant added. I actually have more respect for LeBron in his position than I do for Durant, and I lost a lot of belief in Curry and Klay after their lame Finals play (it wasn't great the year they won either). LeBron's putting up 40 point games in game 6 and 7 while those other guys shrink and act scurred. I'm not even gonna hate because Kyrie is the one taking and making the last shot and not LeBron, all greats have those guys, even Kobe had Horry and Fisher. LeBron shrunk against the Mavs and maybe Spurs, but that was a long time ago now.
My feelings mirror yours Weezy. I am no longer a fan of GS since Durant joined on. I liked them a whole lot better before when I felt like it was more of a team. Now it just feels like another superteam situation. I'm not into it and I don't think they will beat the Cavs. Really I'd like to see the championship go to someone else. Maybe even the Spurs (can't believe I'm saying that). I don't think anyone else is in that top tier. Seems like a three horse race.
^^^^ Spurs won't do well in the playoffs , Parker/Gasol/LMA can't guard the PNR , teams will definetely exploit this over the course of a series . Cavs played GS pretty well yesterday ... They were off from downtown but generate a ton of open looks .
Kyrie owns Steph and Bron owns KD, im good with that. Can't stand the Warriors and still can't understand Durant's decision. They had a nice team. They beat the Spurs, they were seconds away from beating the Dubs, all that with a rookie coach. Durant is a major p**** and i still remember and laugh at this gem...
NBA now says Bron should've got a Tech for hanging on the rim for a half hour and that KD was fouled on final possession.
I hate when the NBA comes out with these, it doesn't change the outcome of the game. Maybe start training the refs better or do something about their bias.
I enjoy watching the Warriors.... or at least I did last year. Curry drives me crazy. I could never play with him. Dumb shot selection and careless with the ball. Frustrating to play with people like that.
Warriors aren't the same team this year without Walton and Bogut, and bench depth they gave up. Harrison Barnes as 4th option was quite a luxury. They actually lost quite a bit of solid role players for them. Barbosa. Speights. You don't replace those guys with nobodies and get the same results.
