There's a very good possibility we might now win a game this month.

Is Magic running out of people to blame? He talks of someone helping Jim help with the basketball decisions. He does realize that Jim does have help in the form of Mitch, right? Mitch - when left on his own - swings deals, has been drafting very well and knows how to find diamonds in the rough with trades.

Maybe he should also start pointing the finger at that other half of ownership? You know... the perky one that put an ultimatum on her brother? Perhaps maybe be a true good friend and tell him how much his boy SUCK leading these kids and reigning in Old Snake? Maybe tell him how much the latest Laker legend is just being stupid this season thinking he's Steph Curry with the latest 17 3PA's?

Yah Magic... maybe you should spread the finger pointing around, because there's plenty of it. Until then... we know where your loyalty (favoritism / bias) lies.

It just accured to me, As much as Scott is to blame, a lot of will have to go on the front office. Remember, they were looking for a coach who would make sure they featured Bryant prominently in the offense. Did they forsee Kobe being this bad? Probably not. But the fact Scott probably whole heartedly agreed to those terms is what got him hired. Now he's sticking by his promises and that's why he has the "live or die" mentality with Kobe's shots. This is why he won't get fired at least now or this year. After season's end maybe. But for now we're in for a loooong season.

An innocent f****** bystander. You kidding me? He's the effing COACH!!

Fire everybody associated with the Lakers if that's the case. Absolutely ludicrous.

^I read that too, Doc, but I wouldn't put much stock into that, IMO. FWIW, Mitch sounded frustrated when I heard him last speak, and I know he was expecting more from this roster. Though, the roster isn't great, it's better than how we've been playing and the record we currently have. Byron is as good as gone next season.

One of the most asinine statements I've read this year and just another reason I'm not investing myself anymore.

A friend I haven't seen in a long time wants to go to a game in December or January but I'm really trying to talk him out of it. I am trying to tell him as nicely as possible that I'm not spending a cent on this f***ing disgrace that is the current Lakers.

Maybe I can convince him to watch the new Star Wars with me instead.

The roster has nothing to do with this. My god how many wins would we have with Phil coaching this same roster, triangle maybe misusing Russell or not (for greater good). You know it's all been about this horrific joke of a coaching staff. Mitch HAS to know this or he should quit right now. I haven't been lobbying for that to happen.

    Much better investment.

Not only will tickets now be more expensive because of Kobe retiring, but the product stinks. I went to the Toronto game and even though I had fun because I sat near the court, the product was terrible. I won't be buying another ticket this season to watch Kobe play the way he is and watch the team continue to flounder about working for a Top 3 pick that has worse 70% odds of landing here.

Of course Mitch knows; if fans know, Mitch one of the most respected GM's in circles has probably come to the conclusion that Byron isn't the guy for the job. He knew that before they hired him, IMO. I'm not a fan of all of Mitch's decisions, and he hasn't been perfect; far from it. However, there were other reasons why we hired Scott: namely for Kobe and riding out these last years. We just have to sit back, be patient, and go from there. Hey, could be worse, you could be a Knick fan...they haven't won a title in how many years? LOL!

Just go for Kobe. No matter how bad he is, get the chance to see him on the court at least.

You know what I'd love to see Kobe in person one last time. If he was playing to the best of his ability, strategically and smartly trying to win the last games right up until the end. A little latitude for picking his minutes for healthy doses of attempted "hero ball", if they didn't come at stupid, "jeopardize the game" moments.

You couldn't pay me now to drive to Staples to watch him make a mockery of his legacy and prove all the haters right finally ..... that fans of the real Kobe (good Kobe) defended him to all these years. In hindsight, in spite of what he always said, maybe it always was to a degree of large amounts of all about him, mixed in with the winning. Much as I'm pissed at Magic now, no one would ever say on the floor it was all about him, truthfully, mixed in with the winning. That wasn't his game. Thing with Kobe he was so supremely skilled, mentally tough and dominant that he could pull all of that off when he was still good.

Neither do I. I already am not watching as many games this season (or at least full games all the way through). If Boron is brought back, I will not watch a game next season unless we nail Durant or something crazy...which with Byron at the helm won't happen anyway.

I'm not that kind of fan. I totally get how people do think like that, but it's not me. I've always been more into the team, less so about the hero worship.

It's not so much of hero worship as it is just as much how much he has contributed to the TEAM.

For 20 years he was the team. The games haven't been that much more expensive since his announcement, only the last game of the year that has skyrocketed to ridiculous amounts.

I'm just as frustrated as any other fan out there watching the Lakers. And sure it's painful to watch Kobe struggle out there, but it's also nice to see him enjoying the last bit of it and soaking it all in every game. Think about the next time you'll see a player for the Lakers play his entire career here and play 1 last season. It's going to be a long time from now.

The coach's job is exactly the opposite -- to not be the bystander. This is so embarrasing for Byron and the organization as a whole. And screw you, Magic. You're one of the reasons why I am a Laker fan, but screw you - and you know why.

Gawd...that Byron hire, what a woeful decision. At the time, I got caught up in too much optimism and nostalgia and actually thought he had a shot at doing a good job here. I knew he had problems in Cleveland, but the man supposedly had so much Laker pride. And yet, I haven't seen that at all. He's dragging the Laker brand through the mud, helping to set records we don't want to be a part of, and fostering a losing culture. What's worse, because he was part of such a historic Lakers era as a player, the people who should be holding him accountable are keeping their lips shut. It's just such a toxic situation.
