Ollie's sonhis going to start attending UCONN this fall. I believe he's playing basketball. I don't see Ollie leaving, but I'd love it, though

Wasn't Byron hired to bring back the Laker tradition, the tradition of winning? He's on track to have 3 of the worse records on Laker history.

Just a thought, if Byron does get the boot at the end of the season... would you guys be interested in Luke Walton or too inexperienced?

Absolutely. Surround him with top notch assistants, and he's good.

Yeah and it shouldn't be surprising with his track record of incompetence.

The Durant ship has sailed. Scott made sure of that, even if he's gone. It's going to take a couple years to eradicate this stink from this team and that's only if we knock the next coach hire out of the park.

Our only hope at this point is we'll get the top 3 pick. No starting FA will come here this summer on anything other than a 1 year rental.

Too inexperienced IMO. Hard to tell how good of a coach he is when he's inherited an amazing team.

Yeah hard to say how much of the credit should be given to Luke. They have a set system in place over there already. It's hard to say until we see more games.

Same could be said about Kerr since Jackson did the grunt work with the Warriors. I'll give credit to Kerr for taking them to the next level, but the team was in tact and it was a contending caliber roster.

I agree we don't know about Luke. But what I do know is he's a better alternative than Scott. I know that's not saying much, but it's not like we'll be able to go after any top coaching prospect. Luke may very well be one by season's end, but I'm counting on Laker ties counting for something.

He has been around the game since birth. Possesses a high basketball IQ. Has spent time under multiple systems both in the pros and in the collegiate ranks. Newer generation coaches don't force the broken model old school s*** down the throat of their teams. This isn't the Pat Riley NBA anymore, Scott is too ignorant and stubborn to realize that.

Kerr revitalized that Warriors offense. Mark Jackson had the team doing way too much iso plays and the ball was sticking too much. Plus I think Kerr brought more fun and character to the team.

The problem we have in replacing Scott is this team needs to show some potential before we can attract anyone worth their salt. Both in coaches and star FAs. Don't think Ollie with his cush, secure job or Brooks, Thibs, whoever, won't give great consideration to the turnstile way we are handling coaches during this rebuild if we hustle Scott out right away too. As big of an attraction as it is to bring success under the bright lights and media of LA, it's equally undesirable to walk into a guaranteed flame out here. We aren't poised to make (big) waves in the next couple of years.

Durant at nearly 28 next summer and no championships (assuming he doesn't pick one up this year) would seem foolish to throw his lot in here from a competitive standpoint with a few years of prime left in him. It's unlikely our youth would develop by next summer into the type of assets we could use to trade and build around KD that soon either. Though you never know, things didn't look that great in early '08 either though we were better than now by a long ways.

No, we are stuck with Scott for the foreseeable. Buss and Mitch picked this guy and would look stupid replacing him anytime soon.

Golden State had something awesome in the works. Their improvement from 2011/12 to this season is ridiculous.

    2011: 35 win%
    2012: 57 win%
    2013: 62 win%
    2014: 82 win%
    2015: 100 win%

But they changed in many ways:
    2011: 92.3 Pace
    2012: 94.5 Pace
    2013: 96.2 Pace
    2014: 98.3 Pace
    2015: 100.5 Pace

    ORtg
    2011: 105.4
    2012: 106.4
    2013: 107.5
    2014: 111.6
    2015: 114.2

    DRtg
    2011: 109.1
    2012: 105.5
    2013: 102.6
    2014: 101.4
    2015: 97.2

I don't think that team is nearly that good now if Jackson hadn't been there to start building them up.

Marc Jackson to them is like what we wanted Byron to be. Not the best Xs and Os guy but he will make a young team play together and play hard. Then he gets canned and a better coach comes in and leads them to the promise land, lucky for them Kerr did it his first year.

I don't understand how you can say this with certainty. We know nothing about Luke as a coach.
