I'd liked to see a high PRN run by DAR with JC off the ball and eventually cutting to the basket at full speed as/if DAR is drawing attention from the opposite D .

It happened during the Heat game in the 1st half ...

Mo and Lebron are running this play at least once a game

I just don't understand why Byron doesn't want to have Clarkson and Russell down the stretch. Byron seems to do 1 thing right, but then screws up something else. Russell didn't play the 4th against Miami, he plays the 4th in Orlando, but no JC. What is the deal.

JC started off poorly, but he was improving as the game went along, setting up his teammates nicely. I'd like to see him closing games.

If anything Nick Young should have taken that shot. He cooled off over the game, but he's a much better shot creator from the perimeter than Lou.

Lou is great at drawing fouls, but he didn't even do that.

Not even a pick to create a mismatch or anything.

My guess is that he doesn't want 2 rookies/second year players in the backcourt to finish games. He wants at least 1 vet out there because we've seen how effective that's been so far this season

As much as I hate to admit it, you're probably right. Fact is I don't think I was this adamant of a coach needing to be gone even with Pringles. And it's probably due to the fact that Pringles did have a high scoring freestyle offensive system that made the game somewhat interesting to watch, but on the flip side the lack of discipline on defense led to us giving up 130-140 points on a nightly basis. It was ludicrous.
Now with Byron, we know these kids can play better given the right system to run and it's just not being done. The bone headed plays that he comes up with is frustrating. Take that last play, Pringles was a genius at getting a shot attempt at the basket with about a second on the clock. He's done it multiple times. So it stands to reason that he would have had a nice play drawn up as the clock was winding down. Now don't get me wrong I'm not advocating the return of Pringles, in fact we would be ridiculed worse than when we first hired him over Phil. But I'm not sure we as a fan base can tolerate a whole season of Scott ruining these youngsters. Yeah our public image is going to take another hit, but I actually believe it can recover if we can get a reputable coach like say a Thibs, or Luke who would be coming from a championship environment. The front office talked big about making a push for the playoffs so if that is still their mindset albeit a far fetched one at this point, they really can not let this continue, public image be damned.

I'm thinking my prediction of 32 wins was WAY too optimistic. At this rate it's looking like low to mid 20s. The only good news about that is that if we underachieve that horribly then Byron is gone. The bad news is I don't how attractive we'll be to the top tier free agents.

We won't be at all. Any hope of Durant is false hope at this point. Honestly why would even a guy like Derozan want to leave a playoff contender for a 20 win team? Won't happen. Even worse, we're still incredibly unlikely to keep our pick. Right now we're the 2nd worst team in the league. Even if that continues I have little faith in keeping that pick. The only bright side is a looooooooot of time for our young guys to develop.

Byron is terrible at coaching a game. I think he's getting worse even. I don't know why he's so dedicated to Lou as to isolate him at the expense of Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson for a bad shot over a good defender. I'm sure Lou doesn't want to take that shot either. Just bad.

Who are the prime unrestricted 3s who will be available besides KD? Realistically he's [IMG] But as many have said, just a really good 3 would make us dangerous. Still a lot of money left to spend and maybe Upshaw is ready to contribute as well?

Harrison Barnes RFA, Demar Derozan, Nicolas Batum, Jeff Green . Those are the main ones that come to mind.

What other coaches have or had a thing for playing starters randomly the entire first quarter? I don't think I've ever seen this?

Honestly, I think our best shot at a wing player is Ben Simmons, Jaylen Brown, or Brandon Ingram. I am all too aware of the low likelihood we keep our pick, but I think we have a much better shot at the pick than we do Kevin Durant.

I just can't see any free agents being attracted to us absent some kind of Miami Heat-like joining of forces in LA AND our young guys showing a lot in the second half of the season.

We'll be scrapping the bottom of the barrel for FAs as log as Byron is the coach.

Yes. I think all it would take is to fire Byron, to bring in a competent coach, and for us to start looking respectable again in order to attract at least a couple of the players realdeal listed. Will it attract Durant, no, but I'd be happy with a few of those other guys. This roster is not terrible, we are more talented than we were last season, a smart coach could be getting us some wins, or at the very least having us not look like a joke on defense and lost on offense. Get rid of Byron, play to the strengths of these young guys and watch them grow, start to bring some credibility back to the team, and we look a lot more appealing going forward.

Byron isn't only bad for Russ, or for letting Kobe and Lou do whatever they want, or awful offensive and defensive schemes, he's also awful for our prospects going forward. It's a top priority that he not be here next season and we have a better coach in place before next free agency, or hopefully wayyyyy befor then.

Front office is in shock. When they wake up they will make a move. Not even the most extreme Scott hater could have anticipated it being quiet possibly the worst coaching hire in NBA history. They have to know they have to make a move soon. Right now they are just hoping for some miracle to happen.

One more hire like the previous 3 and we'll have to settle on euro or totally unknown coaches.

As bad as it is, I still don't see them canning him this season. I still think they will ride him out for Kobe's last year then fire him. At that point the next FA signing gets their two cents about who they want as coach. If they are wooing Durant, which they surely will be, I can see them asking about Ollie and maybe Scotty Brooks.
