You need a coach that utilizes our pg strength... We have the worst offense and defensive schemes

Once again this guy is GARBAGE. Played Black way too long. Yeah it's great he finally opened his eyes and realized he can't play Bass and Kelly as the backup bigs, but playing Hibbert our best and only good defender right now only 17 minutes is ridiculous. Three games now giving up 110 + points. Inexcusable.

This clown is supposed to be a defensive coach and he's anything, but. Where's the discipline? The rotations, the closing out but doing so in a controlled manner and not allowing an easy path to the cup. Guys are constantly out of tune defensively. Late help. Wide open shots on dribble penetration. Pathetic.

[IMG] Kobe, what are you doing? We were all playing so well in practice.....

    :Tabarnak:I'm so mad at myself!!!!!

:Byronbye: Just take the day off from practice and regroup. You'll feel better tomorrow.

[IMG] I don't feel better. :KobePoint: And you STINK!!! Your defensive plan.....?:Kobepuking: Your offensive rotations.....? [IMG]

If I weren't sucking so bad myself, you can bet I'd be calling your sorry arse out. [IMG]

Trudell: "Byron, what was wrong with the defense tonight?"
    Byron: "It just sucked."

Byron: "Before the game even started I said don't go into the game trying to be ready. You gotta be ready when the game starts. And we wasn't ready."
Trudell: "Do you have a reason why?"
Byron: "I don't. I wish I did. If I did I would have solved it."

Isn't this something that should be taught in-game by... I don't know... the coach or one of the assistants????

And I don't buy the young players bit. Yes, the core is young but they're surrounded by vets... two of which knows a lot about defense?

Kobe left Barton alone and the result was a dunk. He's had at least 3-4 more plays like that this season just in a very limited sample size. He's a liability out there defensively, period.

There is just no heart, no passion, no enthusiasm out there. We see other coaches at least show some animation on the sideline when things aren't going well. It's like Byron just expects this and has the answer of "We'll work in it." That doesn't cut it. Need to have some emotion out there with in-game adjustments. Stick to a lineup, and don't set the fear of being yanked for doing something "wrong."

The team is trending toward just quitting on him, or his philosophies. If that happens, he will have no choice by to go.

ONCE AGAIN WHY AREN'T CLARKSON, RANDLE, AND RUSSELL ON THE COURT TOGETHER IN CRUNCH TIME?

    This season is supposably developing.

HOW ARE THEY GONNA DEVELOP IF THEY'RE NEVER ON THE COURT TOGETHER DURING CRUNCH TIME.

We clearly needed Russell's playmaking because we couldn't get any quality shots off. The kid had SIX assists in 20 minutes. He didn't play for the last quarter and a half basically. What the hell is wrong with you Byron?

How do you expect this kid to get better and reach his full potential when he's not even playing half the game? Hibbert is literally our only defender even above average and where is HE? This is just unbelievable.

What the hell is the defensive scheme? We still sag on pick and rolls. Like Kobe said were allowing Faried to roll without anyone stepping up and helping. If you're worried about Hibbert's pick and roll coverage than have Randle be the guy who steps out on switches and those high screen and rolls.

Also why the hell are Nick Young and Williams the primary ball handlers on the second unit? Huertas needs to be that guy. Let him run that second unit. Let him get them the ball in their spots. Let him push the pace. Why aren't we running pick and pops with Bass? My god dude you're a joke.

Kobe was awful on Gallinari as well. This is why I've been saying, give MWP some of Kobe's minutes in order to help our defense. It couldn't hurt much even offensively as Kobe continues to take threes when he can't hit them.

It's as if simple basketball techniques aren't being used. Doesn't make any sense.

There's just no organized defense out there that I can see at all. None. It's like Byron has turned into Mike Antoni.

Byron's answer to everything: "They wasn't ready."

Love the detailed break-down coach, very constructive. Isn't it YOUR job as a COACH to make sure they're ready?

I fail to see any sort of structure offensively or defensively.

I really don't know what we are running out there.

I didn't expect us to make the playoffs but we shouldn't be THIS bad. We are practically giving up 120+ every night ... that's insane.

At this point we might need some fresh blood in at head coach. Give someone new a chance. I don't know what Byron is doing out there anymore.

I don't see how he manages through next season. Mitch isn't stupid. In fact, Mitch is one of the smartest basketball people around. When they showed a glimpse of him during the Mavericks game, just by his expression, it didn't look good at all. I know he knows he's going to have to make a change. This just isn't working.

    Preach!!

I too was a Byron supporter for the hire and last years team, but this season, seriously f*** this guy!! He's been handed a real team on a golden platter and has no clue how to coach an offensive or defensive strategy or philosophy. WTF is going on in his mind? "Let's always switch big to small so we have Ryan Kelly trying to guard the opposing PG at the 3pt line", "I have another great idea! Go over or under a screen. Either one is a fine choice", "Substitutions? I'll wait until it's too late to bring Hibbert back in just to make things exciting"

I understand the assistant coaches suck too, but that means we need to get rid of everybody but Worthy because at least Randal seems to be coming along nicely.

Meanwhile Thibs is out there without a gig. Want to have some organized defense?

And honestly there's enough fire power on this squad to survive Thibs' lack of ingenuity on that end. At least we'd be running pick and roll with Russell in the starting unit!
