I know more about basketball than ALL of you. You weren't at my practices.

Good point - in that case why not go with Luke? He has head coaching experience, is highly regarded in the Lakers org. and learned from Phil & Kerr. I'm just wary of the hype train. If Ollie didn't play a few games with KD back in the day, would anyone give a s***?

:Byronbye: "You lost a great coach. This was my dream job. I wish you at least gave me something to work with, and a chance to turn it around with some gritty men that had experience in manning up for fist fights. "

[IMG] "This was a tough decision. We're going a different direction. Pack your s***."

[IMG] "We'll miss your coaching on Shaqtin' "

[IMG] "You should have been coach of the year. And Ima play in the NBA for 3-4 more years."

I was out of town on vacation when the best news of the year dropped. I've never smiled so big from a Bleacher Report update on my phone. I may or may not have done the air jump from Anchorman. If we didn't hire a coach and just let the roster coach itself, we'd finish with a better record than we did last season. So glad the cancerous tumor is no longer with the team.

Props to management for hiding those outs/clauses in his contract allowing us to kick him to the curb. Since we didn't know about them, I wonder if Scott knew about them or if it was fine print and written in white ink.

That is the only thing I will give props to management for, because the FO is a s*** show and they only further magnified that fact in this past week. We've got to get it together as a cohesive unit before FA or it's going to be a repeat of last year. 1) How did Jeanie not know Scott was on his way out? That's unacceptable on her part and Mitch/Jim's. She needs to be more involved. Force yourself into the damn loop if you have to. Mitch/Jim need open dialog with her. She doesn't need to know every little detail of every move they make; but as the President any hiring, firing, signing, trade, drafting should be at least brought to your attention before the media announces it. Mitch/Jim's timing was awful too. Drop him a week earlier and you can at least have a conversation with Thibs and Brooks. I'm fine with our current options, but when two of the top available coaches are interested in you, you owe it to yourself to have a dialog just to see if it's a good fit or not. I know Thibs wanted control and after how he was d***ed around in Chicago, I don't blame him, but you don't know how much he wanted or if that was negotiable because we missed on the opportunity to sit down with him. Thibs wouldn't be my first option unless we're shifting the roster around to become a playoff team next season, but I like options and don't like the indecisiveness of the FO. Shows uncertainty on the direction they want to go and it's frightening there was pause on what to do with Scott. A blind chimp could've made that call before the season ended. Yet it took multiple conversations after the season with Scott to be certain we weren't going to retain him. Again, we HAVE TO get our s*** together before FA.

If we could get Luke Walton that would be an awesome start. I don't think it's likely though because he seems comfortable with the Warriors.

Would imagine Larry along with most others who covered the Lakers and Scott did not appreciate Boron's responses and bullying looks to questions he was asked about his decisions. Such as "I know more about basketball than all of you".

Dirt's not gritty enough for Boron. Gotta bury him in sand.

I'd rather bury the man himself. Shovels are cheaper in bulk. Who's in?
