It looks like the 1 year boycott, or the #BoyScott is becoming more and more likely. My fandom will never go away but it will be difficult to watch a boron coached team for another year. The FO needs to get the message that the fan base will not put up with this. They are going to have a rude awakening since they won't be able to eat off of Kobe next year.

I'm prepared to not hear any firing of Byron. He will be the coach next season. The Buss family, especially Jeanie, are too stuck reminiscing about the past to a fault. They hired Byron for what reason? Because he was a former Laker. With the Buss family it's ALWAYS about the past, not the future. Just look at the free agent pitches we gave the past couple seasons. It's always about "Look at what we did, look at who we had." It's NEVER about "look what we are GOING to do." The FO dwells too much on the past, they are too scared to look ahead. While other teams progress, we stay behind. The coaching staff doesn't even mess with analytics, the numbers that truly matter. All they care about is if the players can "man up." I'm sick and tired of this FO thinking in an old school way. WAKE UP, all the teams are moving ahead of us while we talk about "Showtime Lakers." To be honest, the BEST thing that will happen is the Buss family giving up the Lakers. We're going to be a bottom 5 team again, and it might be that way for a while.

You and I both know the answer to that. We may not want to admit it out loud because it scares us, but it's pretty obvious that the plan right now is to keep Byron for another year.

Wait what with Luke?? Am afraid to read further. Just popped back in for a pick me up of wanting Boron gone energy. OK going to read further. WTF, why is this even a rumor. If we get snaked by the Queens the FO is every bit as bad as Byron the Clown himself.

Unfortunately the once proud Lakers' new norm,
Might very well be this obnoxious fart storm.
With a bunch of kids young enough to live in a dorm,
And ancient players unable to perform.

I think the answer is they know who they want and if that person is unavailable, they're not moving on from Scott. That person I'm pretty sure is Luke. If Luke is actually available, I think the Lakers will make this move. If not, then they're keeping Scott.

I don't see them keeping Scott "for no reason" (in their minds), but I do see them keeping him if they don't have someone they truly want available.

Now if Luke goes to coach elsewhere and we keep Scott, then I'm never forgiving the Lakers and the Buss kids. They can all go rot for all I care. I'll be glad to watch my favorite franchise fail so that we can get some changes made and move in the right direction.

Woj says the Wizards are in LA closing in on a deal with Scott Brooks. Meanwhile our front office is relaxing and taking their time to get together for a lunch.

I never was a big "Thibs guy" but right now, i would sacrifice my left nut just to get rid of b0ron. I will seriously miss entire season of Lakers ball thanks to that dumb f***. SMH

After reading that article I'm so pissed right now that I have to comment twice. Top tier coach wants to be here, wants to recruit FA here, would have carried weight with LMA, wants to win and we said.....

Nothing because we didn't even entertain it. At least see if you can get him to just be the coach. At least try. Sorry he's not top tier like the j****** we have now.

Our FO needs a reality check. Days of cashing checks thanks to Kobe are over. We're the laughing stock of the NBA...

I just started reading that article...... I kept having to scroll up to see if it was just some intern's article only to find that its a Woj article......

DAR could have been his Tom Brady. Thibs' connection with Team USA could have made FA pitch easier, also the fact that he has an actual system. Don't forget that he spent some time this season learning offensive sets with the Warriors.

I was actually having a good day and then this...

That WOJ piece is one of the most depressing things in some time. 2 years ago most of us could only dream about getting Thibs but he was under contract. Now he WANTS to come here and we blow him off? It's so sad. This FO is just out of their minds

Sigh, looks like the worst coach in NBA history will be here another year. It's unfathomable how dumb our front office is.

I am a huge fan of Woj, mostly because I consider him the most reputable reporter around when it comes to basketball. However, in recent times it seems he's sort of gone out of his way to troll the Lakers, maybe making me take this whole "Thibs wanted to be here" thing with a little grain of salt.

For one, when he broke the "Durant interested in the Warriors" piece a few months back, he made it a point to single out that it left the Lakers with little if any chance to sign him (didn't do that for any other team though). Now, he's writing a piece centered around Thibs journey and search for ultimate power in an organization, yet includes a 2 paragraph rant on how the Lakers are dysfunctional and blew their chance with him? Not saying Woj isn't telling the truth because his track record says otherwise. I will say that I don't think Thibs to the Lakers was necessarily as close as he made it seem though.

The season ended a week ago. How can the Lakers still be "deliberating" over the worst coach of all time?
