The 2ND tweet is promising. At the very least, coaches still consider the Lakers job desirable.

Guess the high from Kobe's last game wears off today. I'm back to being mad at the joke of a coach BS is and the fact that our FO is considering bringing him back and already making excuses for him.

The day the season ended, Kings and Wizards fired their coach. I'd take either of them or any of the coaches fired throughout the season all day, everday and twice on Sundays right now.

Maybe the only thing that's been preserved since they've worked so hard to keep Byron around.

It's just unbelievable that this is even being discussed. I'm just stunned. We all can see it and they supposably know a lot more about basketball then us (according to Byron) so why can't they see it? People talk about better roster you're not gonna get one if that idiot is still coaching. Nobody wants to play for him and rightfully so. You think anyone wants to play for a guy who will routinely challenge players manhood and won't ever take any himself? I wouldn't.

Players also wanna play for someone that will actually give them a chance to succeed. Everyone wants to play with actual teams know. Teams that share the ball. Teams that get everyone involved into the action. Teams where there are no agendas and no players holding the ball and jacking up shots. Players want a coach that will instill those principles. We're just screwed. I don't know how they could watch other teams that don't even have much talent still have success and still not fire that idiot.

What's more depressing is this guy has a bad track record. Couldn't get along with Jason Kidd. What other coach couldn't? That guy is one of the best leaders ever and yet Byron couldn't get along with him. He hates young players and he can't even get along with one of the best point guards of all time. He had another one of them in New Orleans and had two freaking postseason appearances are you kidding me? Doc Rivers is a good coach not a great one and they've gone to the playoffs every year. Hell Monty Williams took them to the postseason the year after they canned Byron. As bad as the Cavaliers were after LeBron bolted they were much better with Mike Brown who was mediocre at best.

I mean what more do you want Lakers? The proof is right there in front of you. Not here to sing MDA's praises, but the team won 27 games in his last season with a much worse roster and they've gotten ten games worse since then. 17 games is inexcusable when this isn't one of the worst rosters in the league. It's an average roster. Therefore they should've at least been competing for a playoff spot or at least been in the hunt for awhile.

This is the same guy who benched our rookie #2 pick for taking over. This is the same guy who routinely calls out the young kids but never the veterans. Did he say all year he needed to get better? No it was always the young guys don't have pride, don't play any defense, they aren't men, etc. I mean when do you hear good coaches say that? Yeah occasionally they'll call out their team, but not every freaking game and more often they put it on themselves for not preparing the team enough.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. God they should take advantage of the fact a guy like Thibs is available. Especially since he did a quid pro quo with swapping defensive theory with GS for some offensive theory in return. If I understood that right a couple months ago.

Listening to Ireland today again saying he thinks the FO is thinking they want to see what he can do with an improved roster and no Kobe there to influence the team's performance is such happy horse s***. He had a freaking decent roster this year and lots of time with Kobe not in the game, and he should have been able to talk to Kobe about playing to get his but also within the team framework to let the younger guys develop.

You know .... within the framework or system that he didn't have that was worth a s***. If him coming back seals the deal with Bass and Black leaving we don't even know if the roster will be better this year if any FAs worth a bleep don't want to play for this worst coach in NBA history who throws his team and the young guys constantly under the bus with no acknowledgement ever that it's anyone's fault but theirs.

Yeah, he's been saying it for quite a while, too. I would surprised if he were wrong being that he is the voice of the Lakers. It's just incredibly disappointing every time he says it. I don't know why he is so sure of it, but it makes it very hard to disbelieve it. He's the one who basically leaked the D' Antoni hire to us on the radio . . . He seems to be in on what the FO is thinking.

Do I understand it? Nope. Nor did I understand the D' Antoni hire over Phil. I thought that was stupid and I think keeping Byron is stupid as well. All I can hope is that they assemble a good enough team that they reconsider this and bring in someone who can actually do something with the roster unlike Scott.

Like I said before, bring Byron back and enjoy the grave you will inevitably sleep in. Employing a coach with the worst record in NBA history as your savior is incredibly stupid, so is holding onto him to transition into Phil coming back to pick the coach.

If you listen close you can hear the ratings already dropping and the hour glass running out on the Buss family reign. Better wise up and make the right decision.

And Byron saying he's smarter than everyone and essentially calling us stupid is funny because the gap between his knowledge of the game and his peers is wider than that with the fans. You have the worst record in NBA history, anything that comes out of his mouth should be laughed at.

WTF Mitch??? What circumstances? You mean the far better roster you put together for him Mitch, that had the luck of good health this season, and Kobe for a full season pretty much, even if with some days off, shooting % down or not. No Kobe last half of last season, not as good of a roster and yet Boron the a-hole turns in an even worse won lost record that started early on this season when I'm sure no tank was planned. If Mitch really believes that s*** he really needs to go too. First time I am in that camp. Disgusting B.S. being spun to support this if it's true.

Well who could blame him? Andrew Wiggins, Karl Anthony, Lavine, a lot of young talent there just like us except they actually showcased it last season.

He should have been fired after the first game! If he's brought back, we have to being the #BoyScott in earnest.

I dont know if anyone follows F1 but this is situation is similar except imagine that Byron was Adam Silver and ruining the NBA. All F1 fans and drivers want Bernie Eccelstone gone but he just wont leave. Sticks to his archaic and dated ways, throws everyone under the bus, just ruining the sport.
